Not a big issue, I just wonder if they are going to put it on why not have at least a 1.3MP
Looks ok for the money anyway, Heat added

Have some heat from me. Similar spec and price to the Mini 10 1012 I got from the outlet, and this is a newer model with a better battery life.

can anyone explain the second photo of the laptop in the best buy page? It seems to show an internal CD-RW drive? What an advancement in technology from dell! I wish it was true...

Its definitely a DVD-RW - you can see it when you zoom in.

BTW - this is also available in black, which also has a picture of an internal DVD drive (as you can see in this massive picture):-

So tempted with one of these especially as it has an optical drive, two things are we sure it writes both DVD and CD's? Could be a DVD play CD writer? Also how upgradable is the RAM? Heated.

Bestbuy must have the wrong images for this model, i checked the specs for this model on currys and its listed as having no optical drive

"Optical disk drive No"
#19
That surely has to be a wrong image, the mini 1018 does not come with an internal drive, heck I would even wonder in a netbook after repairing laptops how currently they could even implement by design one unless they overlaid the mainboard on top of the drive making a thicker base.
#20
So after Quidco this is 189? that's a bargain?!

Is this much better than the Acer deal?

Iphone 4's facetime uses a vga camera too but people seem amazed by it?

Fine for Skype etc - that's all that most people will need it for. Don't fall into the megapixel trap.
#23
I would really recommend paying a little bit more for the 11.6" HP Pavilion than this - the display has a much better resolution at 1366x768 rather than 1024x600, as well as having a faster processor, better graphics (with HDMI), twice as much RAM, etc, and it's not much bigger.
#24
That's around 50% more once you factor in quidco
#25
I am after a netbook for my eldest, and have discounted the Acer after a work mate bought one last week and has had nowt but trouble with it.
I have been on the Dell site and they seem to have 3 models with the Mini 10 name.
None of these show a DVD drive.
#27
That photo with the DVD drive is definitely a larger laptop, possibly 13". It's gotta be the wrong image.

Erm no - it's around a third more (about £60) if you are fair and factor Quidco in on both machines!

None of them have a DVD drive. For most people that's not a problem as it only represents wasted space and weight. Assuming you have another computer with a DVD drive, rip a DVD/CD onto a USB stick if you want to view it on this machine.

Go to quidco & search for Best Buy then click on the link that will open the best buy page, buy the item from that page (you have to use the page that opens through quidco or else quidco won't track)

Thanks for that - bought a few items from Play earlier (through Quidco) but no cashback shown up? does it take a while to hit your account?

Does anyone know if there are new Netbooks with touch screens? :)
#35
Looks like there are three of them. I prefer to keep my screen free of finger marks.

Quidco has FAQs on all this - the idea is to avoid having to answer the same questions again and again and again.

Or old netbooks with added touchscreens if you mod them with a resistive touchscreen layer.

There are few on Amazon:
