These are actually surprisingly good quality.

£23 is still a lot of money though, for what it is.

£14.20 including VAT & delivery.

I have not previously bought from this supplier and therefor cannot comment on their trustworthiness etc.

I've got the Dell AS501 on my 19" Dell monitor, not that impressed with it. Sound quality is ok but there's not much volume to it. Given my time again, I would buy separate speakers.

I've bought a couple of dell machines from itc before, both times they've been prompt with delivery and had no problems with the hardware however i think if you were to have a problem outside of their returns policy i doubt you'll get anything back from them. As far as i know all their stock is returned stock which has damaged cases or had refurbs.

If in doubt just get the AX510PA one, they are identical except this one has a power supply supplied with it.

I think you'd only really want one of these if you were short on desk space for proper speakers.

The physical dimensions alone of these things means they can't possibly sound as good as desktop speakers.

I would echo some of the sentiments on this thread. I bought this Dell soundbar with my 23'' dell monitor and the only thing they are good for is saving space. The sound quality is not up to scratch.

thanks for this

I have one of these for watching TV/DVD's with the 24 inch monitor that was posted some time ago.
I had read reviews saying they were not much cop, so I did not hold out much hope.
They sound much better than the reviews suggest. (but bear in mind that I am watching tele in bed very close to the speakers). The only downside is that if I route the sound through the HDMI port then it's much quieter than if I use the phono leads - with phono leads these speakers go very loud, not a great deal of bass but quality trebble and mid range.

What is the best way to get sound out of the HDMi cable going into to a Dell monitor? I dont want to run stereo cables to separate speakers as the source is 7 meters away.

They are really really poor if you're used anything decent but if you must have pants sound and want it stuck on to your Dell monitor then get one.

Be better getting headphones or since you'll have to plug this Dell unit into the mains it would make good sense to buy something that'll give you something heading towards decent sound. If you just want to hear that an email has arrived then go to Poundland and buy their external speakers meant for MP3 players etc. Not that much difference except your only outlay is £1 and no increased electricty bill.

Never understood these items. I'm not sure who Dell market them at. Nobody wanting serious sound would touch them and anyway I reckon they make the monitor look like some cheap thing. Tacky.

Voted cold, these are always this price.

Anybody know of any dell discount codes knocking about for their accessories? I know they used to send one out to you by email every time you bought a system but I haven't seen any in a while.

Need to but a 210W AC power supply for my new lappy - dell are looking £56 delivered:-( so 10% off would make a bit of a dent in the price.
