To avail of this offer all you need to do is select your desired system, add it to your shopping cart, then tick the "SAVE £55" offer in the Software and Peripherals Section once you have added your system to the shopping cart ! It's that simple!

Nvmd Found it although it'd be worth putting this in there aswell ;)

Very few offers from Dell this year unlike last year there pc's are assembled in Ireland & there are 1800 workers on there notice that's not so good for them or the offers situation.

Looking out for a deal on a Studio 17 so this with always help good find:thumbsup:

Looks like they've upped their prices (at least of their lower end models) as usual. They had Celeron Inspiron 1525s for £267 to £285 yesterday, now £308 to £330.

YOu need to add it to your basket, on the next page there a addon with the £55 off, click that and update the basket and you're done. . .

Prices seem a lot higher compared to before Christmas, at least that's my first impression.

I'm looking for a Studio 15 with WUXGA screen which are quite thin on the ground :(
#9
They had the celeron inspirons around the £285 mark at 8 ish this morning.

Now Shipping from Poland....

Is it me, or do the prices not include vat, until you reach the checkout stage ?

If so, the prices aren't brilliant. Not bad either though.

XPS's are 'Dimensions' not 'Inspirons' and therefore do not qualify for the offer.
#14
remember stock on outlet changes as they are returns etc. which have been built so there is only a single unit at that price with those specs available. so keep checking!!

So the Polish worker's that came to Ireland for work & got jobs with Dell have been trained up & are now back home building Dell pc's :?

Anyone interested in a Dell may find this website good:

http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/Refurbished_Open_Box_Systems.html

i came across them a while back, and picked myself up a Logitech 3200 wireless keyboard/mouse combo and a G15 gaming keyboard for about £30 for the pair (german language, but that doesn't bother me). The stuff i got came unboxed (and with the wrong batteries as it happens, but that was a minor inconvenience) and it arrived pretty quick. there are some good bargains to be had on there.

They have this promotion every other week!

I have been looking at the Dell outlet Inspiron prices since mid December and they have increased the base price of the Inspirons over the last week then offered a discount so it is not the good deal it appears to be.

No, a plant of Limerick's capacity has already been there.

Are Poles to blame for recent Woolworths' closure too?
#22
Dell aren't trying very hard with their prices. You get one or two good deals a day but you have to keep checking. By and large the deals leading up to Christmas at Comet, Currys etc were better value.

Yes true, I've been watching prices of XPS as well and seems that they increase the price the night before and bring them down again morning after any promotion. Altho you'll have ~ 20 quids cheaper during promotion time but they dont look like good deals for me. The 100 off before Xmas was a decent one!
#24
I hate it when the company's don't include the VAT in the price because at first you think its a good deal and when they add on the VAT you are disappointed wasting all that time looking and not buying. For £300-£400 is allot of VAT added in the final price £45-£60.
#25
To those saying prices are not what they were;

The pounds has dropped by a third in the last few months. Computer parts are imported and assembled in Ireland in expensive euros. It will take time to filter through the supply chains but the desire to give good deals to the UK is going to fade fast compared to giving them to the French or Americans and getting a third more money. Competition and the recession will keep prices from rising too much but decent discounting is going to fade away. Deflation my ass.
#26
They never ever offer discounts they just mess around with the prices so they can pretend they have a promotion on, theyve been doing ever month since time began

I've bought my previous 2 laptops off the dell outlet site and made significant savings. For anyone concerned about going through the outlet root instead of dell direct, fear not. On both occasions service was first class and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

You do need to act quickly with their offers though, as previous posters have mentioned each offer relates to a specific product and when they are gone they are gone.

My old desktop gave up it's ghost two days ago :x, so I was urgently looking for something new that will last me a couple of years office tasking. Just ordered an Inspiron 530 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4Ghz) with 2gb memory. Basic, but fairly future proof, so not too bad for 288.71 delivered inc VAT. Couldn't find a better deal anywhere else anyway.
#29
Oh does anyone know if you can add an extended warranty? I can't see the option buying a laptop?

(Yes I know its rarely good value but I'd like a 3 year warranty on a laptop to know it will last). Thanks.

Well as the chances are you are buying a inspiron or a studio laptop then the come from Poland already. Ireland's plant mainly supports businesses anyway.

Does anyone know if you can use Quidco on the outlet site ?

I mean will it go through or will it re-set somehow.

Thanks

Dave

are u getting any warranty on those outlet laptops??
#34
I don't see this is a good deal. It probably saves you around £20 or less since Dell has increased the price already.

Yes 12 months just as a new one.

I had this in my basket for £388 delivered but had to let it go. I priced it up as £550 on the Home Business page.

Vostro 1510 IC2Duo T5870 (2ghz). Vista Home Prem. 3Gb Ram 667 mhz, 160GB (7200rpm)ffs. 256mb NVidia Geforce 8400M video card & all the usual extra's plus it was the 4965Wlan card & 360 Bluetooth (no camera). Had I not bought the Sony kdl32v4000 from RS I'd have taken this.
#37
Anyone having trouble with machines not getting the accessories section? I've put a fully loaded XPS M1730 in twice but it doesn't have the accessories part hence I can't put he discount on. All the other XPS M1730s work fine, notebook XPS's do qualify for this offer as they are Inspirons.

Also trying to decide whether it's worth 600 pounds for an Xtreme 9000 2.8Ghz processor (unlocked) over a 2.5Ghz, Ultimate over HP and a blu-ray writer over a DVD writer.

Not for much longer the plant in Ireland is to close in the next 12 months with the lose of 19,000 jobs plus around another 10,000 suppliers jobs & all shipped to Poland workers it's said to be paid 3 euro an hour whereas it's 10 euro an hour in Ireland.

Hope the deals still keep coming but I don't fancy speaking to a polish person to sort any problems out
