I think you mean we added £25 to the price yesterday to make you think its a bargain when we took the £25 off today :whistling:

Exactly, the computer I was going to buy this morning was only £332 + Vat, Now it is £368 + Vat, so they have put the pice up by £36 to take £25 off...

They must think people are stupid...

I can vouch for the 'scratch and dent' inspiron laptops.
Ordered a black 1545 a few weeks back and it was like new. No marks or scratches at all
It was free shipping then as well. Arrived in less than a week after ordering

Yes They have, I was going to buy one for a mate about 1 hour ago as per the post above, as he has waited so long to make his mind up they have changed the prices and its now costing himn £13 + Vat more... yet there are supposed to have knocked £25 off...

COMPLETE SWINDLE...

Mmm...I've taken a look and compared a couple to some I was looking for at the beginning of the week (helped a mate buy one) and there's only difference of a couple of pounds extra for me.

I took one Dell Mini 10v (Certified Refurbished) and it came to a final total of £191.49p including VAT and the free shipping - that's not bad in book, if you wanted to go for something cheap & cheerful, especially considering the one year warranty is there as well.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

So they have knocked £25 off, yet as you say they are coming up a few poundsMORE than the beginning of the week.... IE they have put their prices up to knock £25 off... or surely they would be £25 cheaper than the beginning of the week??

I'll rephrase that a bit - when I meant the price, I mean the basic non-VAT and excluding delivery price for the netbook. For the one I remember from my notes, it is roughly £4.00p extra added onto it just now, than it was at the beginning of the week.

Well I have just been back on to check the computer my mate wanted about 2hrs ago, it is still there, but at 10am it was £332, then about 45 minutes ago it was £368, now it is £380, so in just over 2 hours they have put the price of 1 machine up twice and by £48 in total, so even after the £25 discount it is now £23 more expensive than it was 2 hours ago....

LOL!!!!! Assuming it's a higher end system, I wouldn't put it past them to do that!

Add that to the crappy customer service you get from the outlet, I was looking at a Laptop last friday for myself, but the processor was listed as "Click - system ID 0"...

I looked all over for a telephone number for them (I know I have called them before) but there is now no telephone contact with them, you have to e-mail them... So I e-mailed them and gave them the system reference number asking for the processor type and speed...

I had given up on them, until about 2 minutes ago I got an e-mail back telling me it had a 2.4gz Core Duo processor in it.... Too late now... 6 days later... that system is now long gone...

Bloody useless...

There was a tab on the EuroDell website linking one to "14 Days Of Deals" - every day 3 computers/laptops appeared with very decent price reductions, these reductions lasting for 2 days. The following day 3 more computers/laptops appeared so on and so forth. Well, since last night I havent been able to find the tab (I was wanting to look up an Inspiron which was suppsed to come on today and I wanted to see what was coming up tomorrow). I even had a link which should take me directly to this but it doesnt work. Anyone know whats going on?

Was it a refurb or a scratch and dent (Or scratch and sniff as I call them) if refurb then its a decent price...

Dells are nothing special and you could of got new and better rather then broken and repaired for that sort of money

Can you give me an example of where you could get a laptop with 3gb ram, 250gb HD and a 2ghz core duo processor new for this sort of money... until you provide some evidence to back up your statement then i'm sorry but I just dont believe you...
#17
It's a fine price and chances are it will not be a rebuilt, repaired or whatever.
I have always bought Dell for work via the outlet, for over 5 years, can't recommend them enough, majority of machines are just cancelled orders,my last one (delivered yesterday) had all the orignal plastics still covering the black bezels etc (Studio 1555)...you've also got a 12 month warranty....collect and return..at least you don't have to queue up in PC world to get a repair.

just £20 more but new and not secondhand/repaired

£275 to £319 makes it £45 more not £20 more....

Plus thats Nothing like the spec of the dell... its only a 15.4" screen, an AMD Athlon x2 processor and a 0.3mp webcam.... and over £50 more once you add postage onto the price.....

Oh and if you click the link you will find that that laptop is no longer £319 + Postage it is now £399 plus postage... so not only is the processor and screen of a lower standard, but it is now over £140 more cost wise as well....

Care to try again??

Just to prove that dell have put their prices up...

this post from 1 week ago

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/467877/free-delivery-on-all-dell-outlet-la/

Refers to the purchase of a dell inspiron 1555 with 512mb graphics, 4gb ram and 320gb hd for £370, they have started a £25 off sale today with free delivery still available, yet that exact computer is now £403 with the free delivery and £25 discount taken into account... meaning in total, in just over 1 week, the price has actually gone up by £58....

You will find that pricing depends on the original order price..so if a company buys 100 they will get a reduction...but then when they return/cancel them they are priced up on the site at a % discount...but I agree the prices do go up and down at will...you just need to be observant.
The one you have listed above I actually had same spec delivered yesterday...for £329...small mark on lid may have added to deduction...but boy is it tiny.

I know exactly what you are saying, last time they had the £25 off sale, I managed to get a dell mini 10 for just over £100 (£117 minus £25, free delivery + Vat = £105.80 to be exact) but its a bit of a pi$$ take to say they are knocking £25 off, when they have actually increased their prices, like I said in an earlier post, I have been tracking a system since 10am, which is an inspiron 1555 reference number ZM0G2RVR, at 10am it was £332, then at 12 it was £368 and just before 1pm it went up to £380.... I wish I had taken screenshots now...

£25 off has no gone.

Dell's customer service is the worse I have ever encountered *. I wouldn't buy another of their products ever.

*except for NTL who were in a different league - they may be called Virgin Media now but I still recognise them :)

I have to say that I have been using dell as a registered partner for the last 2 years, and up until 2 weeks ago I had encountered no problems at all, I have now had 2 problems in 2 weeks and even though I am a registered partner with an alleged dedicated customer services officer and Business Manager their customer service has been between dreadfull and none existant....
