Thanks. I had a look, plenty of Inspiron 1010's around and I mean plenty. They cant of been too popular if they got a whole bunch of them.

Just picked up one of the dell mini 9s for £153.55.

I've been waiting for a netbook to come along at around the £150 mark again so thought I'd give it a go. Is it right that the WWAN is built in capability for mobile braodband?

can't see any Minis, am i being retarded?

They're under the inspiron notebooks filter and then probably easiest to search by price and they'll all be at the cheaper end of the scale.

oh are the 910 and 1010 the mini9 and mini10 respectively?

Nope no sign of any 10's with SSDs or 10v's and i check the outlet continuously ;)

k think i'm going to order a mini9 -- can't see any difference between any of the ones on the site.. so weirdly, i'm having trouble deciding which one to pick!

this is probably a stupid Q, but as i don't want Windows XP and intend to replace the Dell install with Ubuntu, is there any way to get a refund for the XP licence? that could bring the price down even more..

apparently you can if you reject the EULA on first boot, but i dont know if this still applies to an outlet purchase rather than through the main site

When I have looked at this sort of offer in the past the prices of the Outlet machines went up for the offer and down again after the offer - though they were very slightly cheaper with the offer I seem to recall.

Outlet machines should always be at least 10% less than the price you can buy a brand new one for from their site. If they are not you can ring them to get them to make it 10% less. Just be careful because sometimes they are not 10% less with some of the offers that they run on the main site.

Deal is no longer available, the £25 discount has been removed, they are all back up to full price...

Just checked and the discount is still showing up - I've asked the moderators to unexpire this post to reflect that.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

They seem to have some mini 9s at £112. Full price when they go in the basket though?...

some of them are showing £112.36 net, but the pop up shows net as 134.10, any idea what this means

It appears that only certain machines will have the discount applied - I've just refreshed it and it's a mixed bag now showing. However if you go through to adding it fully to your shopping cart you do see the discount being applied at the end.

I had assumed that this was the £25 discount as £21.74 + vat is £25

well i`ve juct got 2 x mini10`s with £25 off

I have just spoken to Dell about a problem i had with my order under this offer. For some reason they had billed my account twice for a Mini 10. However I was able to speak to them and clear it up. Apparently they have had some problems with the £25 discount in checkout. All is hopefully resolved now but you may want to double check your account to make sure they got the amounts right!

On the up side it turns out that they are charging me £183-49 for a Mini 10, £3 less than I originally expected. :)
#27
Yep, at 8am this morning all the £25 discounts had been removed, but they have now re-instated them...

Even if the Inspiron desktop or laptop you want does not show the £25 reduction on the main page, add it to the cart and take it all the way to checkout and the £25 will be taken off at checkout...

Dont be fooled by the fact that some systems are not showing a discount, the £25 off is on ALL inspiron laptop and desktop systems...
#28
Discount doesn't seem to be appearing all of a sudden. Just added 2 to my cart and neither had £25 discount.
#30
Hi, I have the same.. was going to order an inspiron laptop but no £25 off ! What can we do ?
#31

I've sent an email just now and will let you know what the results are when I hear back from them - agree the discount was meant to be on the go until September 5th 2009, so I'm not sure why they removed it...very odd, as the prices look pretty much the same to me now.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!
#32
yes i emailed them aswell, i hope that address was right as hard to hear the accent of the woman who answered me at dell... i'm not holding my breath. not keen to order at the higher price, its rather unprofessional of them to state the dates of an offer and hours later pull it.
#33
Their checkout had problems last night - the £25 discount was not being fully applied giving a total which was a few pounds more than advertised - however when I received my order confirmation today (it seems to have required manual processing) the correct total was displayed. They may have pulled the offer temporarily while they sort out this issue.

well they don't appear to be selling.. and the discounts are still not there :/

I believe the discount was removed due to the sale that's been kicked off for brand new Dell Mini 10V Netbooks (SSD & SATA models) on the Dell UK website - there's a deal thread about it just now as well with various options for them.

Problem is, for me the mini 9 represents a better deal as I intend to use or sell the WWAN. I don't believe the mini 10 has this?

That's correct only the Dell Mini 9 has the WWAN from what I can see from the list of Dell Mini 9 & 10v models that showing in the list of Dell UK Outlet.

outlet site seems to be completely down now!

edit: and back up.
ordered a mini9 for £175 delivered.. not great but what can you do. bit annoyed with dell over this (got no reply).
#39
Well I think it's safe to say this offer has died. Bit annoyed that the I did not receive a reply to either email I sent, very poor service.

Agree but it's to be expected, as the Outlet personnel have a mixed reputation when it comes to support from what I can see - I have a feeling that it got killed off due to the deals for the Dell Mini 10v Netbooks, which ran until the early hours today. I am assuming that a deal will come back it's just a question of when exactly.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!
