dell outlet systems are not second hand at all, they may be returns from customers. I bought one recently and it was in brand spanking new condition.

Not a bad deal, heat added.

Nope - as nickmax1 said, Dell Outlet systems are cancelled orders or returned systems. They are refurbished by Dell and repackaged, so should be almost indestinguishable from new. Systems which are damaged/scratched are not sold on Dell outlet - they are sold by Dell on ebay (where a more detailed description of the system's condition can be given).

I just ordered an xps m1530 from Dell outlet so will hopefully receive it in the next few days and will give you guys some feedback about condition! :)

I ordered one from the dell outlet on the 09th and it is currently in production, looks like i may get a new one.

Wow - you ordered on the 9th and still haven't received it? How long has it been in production?
I ordered mine on thursday and it changed to in production yesterday and still is - was hoping being already built it would ship today... but that seems optimistic now! Shipping time is normally within 5 days of order I thought?

Is there any quidco to buy from dell outlet?

Hmm, must resist laptop upgrade via credit card...
At least this is less dangerous than the RockDirect XSL8-X6800 I have fallen in love with
http://www.rockdirect.com/viewNotebook.php?pName=XTREME%20SL8

Adding a few optional extras and I had a final price of almost £4000!

Lol - WOW! Now that is a mega spec laptop. SLI 8800M GTXs and X6800 2.93GHz... starting to make my xps specs look like a 486!

You need to find a checkbox after you add it to the basket:

Hope that helps!

at the last page when ordering - see extras below and it is there - just tick the box
BTW the offer ends on 19th June

BTW when you get your order summary email, go to
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/my_systems_info/en/details?c=uk&l=en&s=dfo&~tab=2
enter your service tag and that will tell you the original order build
The one I ordered was a Czech build - hope it's ok

Ah thanks - didn't realise I had my service tag already. My xps was shippied on the 20th May 2008. I think it was originally norwegian! However, dell outlet will make it a standard UK laptop by the time I recieve it I'm sure :-D

I ordererd 1 Ta.

i double checked the websites , and neither home or small business do a 7500 2.2,so it might just be old stock thats never been out the warehouse.

im hoping the video card is the 256mb ddr3 version not the ddr2 version.
#17
mines a turkish one. Also says its only got 182 days warranty as it was shipped 22/12/2007?
#18
Have they gone up?

The only m1530s of this spec I can see are listed (prior to VAT and £60 off voucher) as £517.08 not £462.73. Which comes to 536.85 inc. VAT after £60 off voucher.

I think all the xps's with 8600m gt's have 256mb gddr3 - I'm pretty sure anyway. Will let you know when I receive mine!

I think all the 462.73 ones have been added to people's baskets, thus taking them off the system. If you check back later some of them might reappear as not all people who add the systems to their basket will buy them

Edit: another 11 just showed up, either dell adding them or people's baskets expiring!

Ordered 09/06/08
Confirmation and order number 12/06/08
Pre production 13/0608
Production 14/06/08
ETA 23/06/08

Enquired previously and was told delivery was normally 5-7 days after order. Ordered the following
Vostro T9300,15.4 WXGA,3GB ram,8600GT,200GB(7200),Vista Ultimate(32bit).Matched the spec of what i needed perfectly, the inspirons unfortunately had 1 or 2 components different to what i required.

So heres hoping

Ah, ok - Mine is:
Ordered 12/06/08
Confirmation and order number (after ringing them that day) 16/06/08
Production: 16/06/08
Delivery estimate: 25/06/08

However, I have been hearing that people have been getting systems well before the delivery estimate, at least with the normal Dell site (not outlet) so hopefully the estimates are conservative here too!

can anyone give me a direct link please? cant find them on the site

also, whats the difference between these and the loads at £517.08.

considering its got the 9 cell battery (which is £95 alone) the £463 ones a great value for money...shame no Bluetooth tho.Would be perfect then.
#27
Price incl. VAT excl. del: £472.98

Then they wack on £50 for delivery? If they do you should update the price in the post
#28
delivery was free.

Are you sure it has no bluetooth? I think it is not listed but they do. At least mine didn't have it listed in the specs, but looking at the system configuration by entering the service tag, it has a dell 355 module which is the internal bluetooth module :)

Check your system configuration again as I have a suspicion that all m1530s have bluetooth already!

You are right - the 9 cell batteries are great value - wish my system which I ordered a few days beofre had one :-(

Delivery is free due to the £60 off + free delivery voucher, so £472.98 is the total price you pay including VAT and delivery.

I bought an Inspiron desktop recently from the Dell outlet and...

I CAN DO NOTHING but praise the experience. To put it simply it's excellent kit in excellent condition at excellent prices.

Add a £60-off voucher (to the already cheap prices) and a professional tracked delivery service (mine arrived via TNT) and you've got yourself a helluva deal.

Heat added!

I think this one is over. I've been refreshing the search for 20 mins and not seen anything less than £517. It was a very good deal though.
#35
I brought an XPS of the outlet and it was brand new! Still had the plastic cover over the keyboard and hadnt been touched. Awesome machines!

I wouldn't quite count on it yet - if people browse the outlet site while there are things in their basket, the basket won't be emptied after 15 mins. Check back in say half an hour and see if there are any more

"The systems are marked as £462.73 which works out at £472.98 after using the coupon and vat"

I'm a bit confused. Are the ones you're talking about priced at £532.98 before the £60 voucher?

EDIT: Expired!
#39
damn, would have liked one of those
#40
Well, as I said earlier, it really isn't expired! Just wait a bit and systems will pop back into circulation. Currently still 8 systems at the price in the OP!
Can one of the mods unexpire please?
Thanks!

Edit: Wow, that was quick, 2 mins later and all gone again... Keep waiting though, they'll pop back in again soon I'm sure!
