Thank's Mike just ordered a xps m1330 for £417 delivered.

many thank's Mark.

BTW my discount was £60.44p

im at checkout stage ready to put card details in but i cant see the £55 off reflected anywhere. Is the £55 off the outlet list?
#5
You tick the box before the checkout stage - not easy to spot but it's in the options listing with all the extras you can add-on.
#6
do they do monitors only?
#7
Mike, You posted (a while ago) about buying a Vista PC but being able to continue using XP. Is it still possible to do this?

Also, can you comment on how quiet/loud Dell systems are.
banned#8
Heh, the sneaky beggars.... The free delivery offer was due to expire at midnight last night while the '£60.44 off' one started yesterday evening. Thinking it was a short-term crossover thing I ordered an M1330 to take advantage...

Still, I got a 2GHz C2D, 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD and the LED screen for £501 delivered. An identical spec on the 'proper' Dell site would've cost just over £750.

Bargaintastic!

For Internet access you don't need to spend more than £250 - £300. Stay away from Vista if you can. XP is much faster on a low end laptop. There have been a good few offers recently here on the HotUK site from Dell, Toshiba and HP. Just put the makers name in the search box (top right)

How often does Dell do this? I'm in the market for a laptop in a few months and i'm wondering if I should wait for the next time this potentially happens again.

nothign wrong with that. the refurbs go through a tighter check up and screening than their new systems!

my first dell was brand new, i probably had issues with it on average every 3 months, and basically got free upgrades for the 3 years warranty i had on it (4gb original hdd burnt out, got 20gb, then 40, then 80 etc). my refurb i bought in 2003 has been up 24 hours since then running windows server 2003 and hosting all my emails, rarely had issues with it and it's purring away.

Boo they don't have the XPS I want

This guy must work for Dell!!

About a week typically.

It’s not possible to direct link to a specific deal and even if you could it would be fairly pointless as the good deals don’t last long.

I think there are currently better deals for brand new models and those deals are posted on HUKD.
Otherwise try looking for Inspiron 1525 as they can be had for about £300.

It’s a smaller form factor than a typical tower so only takes half height cards. There were 3 of these when I looked.

delivery : mine took a week.

Are the prices higher than the last time they ran this, cheapest desktops were around £150 then

My Inspiron 530 similar spec to above(3g, two drives) a c2d (2.2Ghz) without the graphics was £195del

read that the outlet stuff is all refurb... will give it a miss.

Not sure that you are right on this one. The ones I have bought on the outlet site have been brand new, typically laptops that have been cancelled or returned by someone under the distance selling regualations.
Refurbs are normally sold by Dell through ebay or via other intermediaries.

You do realise this offer comes by time and time again?

£55 off and free delivery has been around for years. Well, according to the dell leaflets that get left in my email account...

As soon as the deal finished one week, (watch out! only two more days to get free delivery!!!), the following week, another deal...
