not bad, there were a few scratch and dents with 8gb solid states for £121, bet most are gone now
#2
site cannot be opened?
#3
all gone now :(
#4
The 8GB SSD models were £112+Vat earlier on today but are now at £138 which is more than the XP versions were selling for last week at £135. I expect they will adjust the price according to how many they are selling.

#6

#7
Be prepared to wait 2 weeks before they even acknowledge your order, Dell outlet is hitting troubled time dealing with orders!

I just got my order acknowledgment, so it took them less than 24 hours. estimated delivery is on or before 11th march. i can live with that :)

I ordered a mini last week for £159.00 delivered with Windows 7 - great buy.
Placed order and within 4 hours it was confirmed, it has been in production since Thursday but says it will ship on or before 05/03.
Why has a dell outlet mini 1011 been in production for 4 working days?
Is delivery not very reliable with Dell Outlet and where are they coming from?
#10
mumbojumbo
They will be checking keyboards and PSUs are UK spec, data cleansed if necessary and fresh OS image installed, etc. Currently taking about 2 weeks from ordering to delivery. They are delivered from Ireland.

Windows 7 is better for dual boot with OS X than XP too

Thanks for the info - so my order might be here Friday 5th March as it says on my confirmation e.mail? :):)
#11
from ordering to delivery is roughly 2 weeks these days, they come from eastern europe, not ireland anymore.

My last outlet laptop 2 weeks ago came with 6 missing screws, still chasing them !!
#12
Hope to get one of these to install OSX
#13
Current price is £123.57 + vat.

Update - order put back now till 11/03/2010 :x

Seems Dell Outlet is very slow dispatching goods, which is not good when they said they were originally delivering 05/03/2010.

Never mind, i did get a Mini 1011 with window 7 for £159 delivered.

Am I missing something, I cant see a single product under laptops on the dell outlet site?
#18
Does anyone know if the 2GB sticks that come in the studio 1735 and 1737's compatible with these mini 10v's?
#19
Anyone know if a New Mini 10 is worth the extra money over a Mini 1011?

Also, am I correct in thinking a 1011 is the same as a 10v?

Depends what you want to do with it...eg you can't Hackintosh it, but it has a better CPU and HDMI

Yes

Yes

What makes the New Mini 10 better? I'd just be looking for internet browsing and basic word processing. Nothing too intensive. Was looking at the 10v for hackintosh purposes however.

The Mini 10 is much slower than then Mini 10v especially if it comes with the slow Z520 1.3Ghz cpu - the only advantage is the HDMI - I recommend the Inspiron 11z (1110) which has HDMI and an 11.6" display for not much more.

Just bought one thanks to the OP. I bought a refurbished mini 1011.

It doesn't have windows on it. it has ubuntu linux instead.

Hope I can connect my three mobile dongle without too much hassle.

Just realised the lcd back cover is pretty pink. whoops. oh well i'll tell my girlfriend i bought it for her, get the brownie points and then use it all the time myself.

luckily i bought it for the bedroom and not for out and about on trains or at uni or anything :-D

i ordered an xps 8100 (non-customised) on sunday and its giving me an estimate of 11/03/10 too.

i agree, this seems very slow.....

lets hope dell doesn't disappoint!

Couldn't find any for £121 :(

I placed an order on Feb 17th and they only confirmed it on the 26th and it’s been in production since Monday. This was after me contacting them last week to look into it.
They used to be delivered about a week after ordering but they’ve gone to pot now or maybe that should be Guinness!
#28
This shouldn't be expired, there are still about 13 Mini 10V available for about £120+ vat. Can't remember exact figures. Mods please unexpire.

Personally I picked up a Mini 10V with 160gb drive for £160 inc vat - well chuffed. Thinking of hackintosh-ing it.

Thanks to the OP for this post.

I've ended up with two now because the first one i bought is pink, so i thought i'd grab a black one and cancel my pink one.

bad move! dell won't let me cancel :-( nevermind, worse things have happened! :-D

I've cancelled quite a few orders from the Outlet; may be a change of policy!

You can always return something within 7 days - it will cost you about £10 to return (or sell on eBay).

What’s a good courier to use when sending mail to Ireland that’s over 2kg and needs to be insured for full value?

ive been watching the outlet all day today, saw 1 x £112+vat mini 1011 8gb ssd pop in there earlier, but decided to get a £136+vat mini Scratched n Smashed 1011 160gb with Win7 instead

fingers crossed its as good as the other SnD minis I've had

HEADS UP

Just been contacted by Dell regarding a couple of laptops I bought from the outlet last Friday - they have had some "technical issues" and the orders have not been processed. They needed the credit card security number again as it has been wiped from the system - he said my orders would be processed in the next hour. If you haven't received your order confirmation e-mail then it may be worth contacting them.

I placed 3 orders just over 2 weeks ago and they've been in production since Monday! I guess they must be polishing each pixel individually.

Picked one up for £113.25 on the 4 March 2010, specs as follows:

Inspiron Mini 1011
10.1in Widescreen WSVGA with Truelife
MISC
Dell Wireless 1397 (802.11 b g)
Battery Primary 3-cell 24W/HR
Ubuntu Linux 8.10
Memory 1024MB (1x1024) 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel
Grade 1 Scratch or Dent
Hard Drive 8GB Solid State
Atom N270 (1.6GHz,533MHz,512KB)
LCD Back Cover Black
Scratch and Dent

I plan to install a striped down version of windows 7 and optimises it for the SSD drive.

I have an 8GB SD card lying around doing nothing so plan to store most user data on there.

Also have a 40GB 2.5” drive doing nothing which will be used to sore music and video :)
