Hard to ignore the biggest PC vendor in the world.
Happy for you not to buy any, as you pays your money and takes your choices like the rest of us.

Just to get on your nerves, clearly.
Or perhaps you're wrong. I blame the new site. For increasing the amount of numpty comments:thumbsup:

Have to disagree with your opinion. Been using Dells for many years and have always found price and service to be far better than I get elsewhere. Do you have a company in mind that offers better for the price?

sorry for any offence caused. i suppose i'm a pc snob (building my own).

it's just that cheap pcs have cheap components. i'd prefer to pay extra and know that it serves my purposes.

i do understand that most users do not need a pc for specific tasks (recording, graphic designing and flash animating in my case) so a bog standard pc will suffice. however, i don't think there's anything wrong with a person giving their opinion for the benefit of others.

So to call a campany an "awful company" with "awful products" and ask why anyone would post their deals, was a little foolish then, wasn't it?

I am (or was) a system builder myself, but I now mainly only buy in full systems and laptops from brand names such as Dell.
And in my humble opinion the quality from dell has gone from strenght to strenght over the last few years and at there prices its cheaper to buy from them than to build myself. However not seemed to have got a deal from dell outlet yet lol. always seem to be better to watch the deals here and jump on them.
I have had 3 cracking deals over last 2 weeks (big up to miket) from here direct from business site.

If I'm paying hundreds for a machine delivery should be free as a right, others do it!

Have to disagree with you there. I used to build my own gaming rigs but then I found that when a part went wrong - it took a while to organise the whole RMA process whereas with Dell, if you've got warranty (i have next business day) - its pretty darn fast and effective.

On an individual basis, I've always found Dell stuff to perform well and be good value as long you choose a discounted offer from them. My Company tried them for a while though (they buy thousands of PCs and servers every year) and soon dumped them because of inconsistencies in the brand and quality of components they use even in the same models from month to month. This also meant they had to keep a large spare parts inventory once the warranties were finished

Hard to ignore the biggest PC vendor delivery cost ripoff in the world! £60 Yes sure it costs them that!

They should offer free delivery - so comparisons can be fair. How many times have you seen a good Dell price - only to find out delivery at an extortionate £60 has to be added.

Dell PC's are good machines, i used to be a reseller on eBay and never had one complaint. I also have owned one for the last 4 years (a bargain) which has served me very well. Voted hot.

grumpyone, same thoughts as me.

They will get charged around £5 max to send it.

Except you weren't posting your opinion, you stated it as fact.

I support Dell machines at work (entire EU part of the company uses them) and I find them to be good machines, they are generally designed to be easy to maintain and few companies provide service manuals for free. I use them myself for their laptops which tend to have far better reliability than their Clevo counterparts.

Saw the thread and thought I'd throw in my comments,
I am a pc engineer dealing in all the main brands

Dell are generally very good machines, in their reliability and their
Usability, laptops and desktops, and for servicing very well designed

If you asked me what to avoid, top of my list would be Fujitsu
(in my personal opinion)

Recommendation, you can’t go far wrong with Dell or Toshiba

Agree with the comments on the £60 delivery, it's far too high - anyone from dell here?
tell your bosses !!

...and my ten pence worth...

I was a system builder and PC Senior Enigneer with 14 years experience and always used to custom build rigs for myself and others but these days just buy in Dell kit. My own PC has succumbed to a Dell XPS 720 with minor upgrades here and there to suit my needs.

It's your opinion llywmog, but I think you're either misinformed or just plain wrong to say Dell have cheap components in their kit these days.

Agree also with the cost of carriage, but Dell cock up so much with misprices that I can forgive them the odd P&P price now and again :)
