Refurbished?

Yes, 'scratch and dent' (considerable cosmetic blemishes) refurbished with a one year warranty. A good laptop but not a hot deal at that price.

Why they insist on using amd cards in their laptop is beyond me, it is barely better than the on board graphics and not worth the power consumption penalty

There's a been a ton of these there for the last few days. The price is nothing special.

AMD is **** for mobile dGPUs

I don't really get why you need a dedicated GPU in a low end laptop. I have an older Inspiron 15 with an AMD GPU and whilst I did play some undemanding games with it, the performance was really not there enough to be very enjoyable. The built in Intel HD graphics are fine for any day to day use, web surfing, watching HD video etc. So the dedicated GPU just adds weight and cost and is pretty pointless.

I'm only interested in games like Dota/CS where you would be fine with integrated graphics but this could make it even better. This is definitely not suitable for more demanding games.

Good specs - apart from that screen oO

I'm really tempted by this but worried it's gonna turn up dented all over

I can let you know once mine arrives (will be delivered by next Wednesday) but from all I've heard it should be fine. Well, I hope it will be. Lot of people praise the Dell Outlet and claim that "scratch and dent" products are in a really great condition.

Depends really but for me it has no ssd and not full HD .

I ordered one from the previous deal but it hasn't been delivered so I cancelled it and ordered an i7-7500u, 256ggb SSD, 4gb graphics, 8gig ram and full HD for £413 delivered. Seems like a lot of spec for the money.

Yeh they come and go. That was with a 15% off code as well and I wouldn't get too excited about the 4gb graphics, but given the expense of things like ssd drives at the moment an utter bargain I think. Mines coming tomorrow. I don't care about scratch or dent either, its just a utility item that will die and be worthless in several years. Performance and warranty are more important than looks!

So how does it look? Just wonder how bad the cosmetics are. Thanks

I ordered one, arrived today, its spotless!!! I can't see anything wrong with it at all, it didn't have any of those peel-off plastic bits so assume its just been opened and unused. Maybe I was lucky but when I need another I'll be going back to them.

Code : FabFriday brings this down to £350 !

Yes I have received it. It is a white laptop. I can see literally the tiniest mark on one corner. Its so small that to be honest I wouldn't return it if I had bought it brand new. But then I'm not particularly **** about these things...

Other than that it seems like a nice laptop. A plastic but sturdy build. Keyboard seems nice with little flex. I prefer a mouse pad with two separate buttons but that just requires me to get used to it. And of course the spec means it boots and loads nicely.

The only thing which I would say is not great is the screen. For some reason the whites on it don't seem that good, for example when on google. However, the cursor is a bright white and it doesn't seem to effect videos etc so its not an issues and I'm wondering if it is a purposeful thing to improve contrast? Anyone else have any views on this?

But yes, it will do me for a few years and very happy for the price!

I postponed the delivery because they were unable to deliver it before my holiday. It's expected to come on 12th May but it seems that others have been lucky with theirs.

Delivered today. There is no mark of usage on it and seems bigger than I thought it's going to be. Mainly because of the numlock however the weight is not that bad. From visual point of view I think it's a solid win. I haven't tested performance yet but system in overall works really smooth.
