I don't think that you can't get Quidco on Dell Outlet deals.........

I've just bought a 1364 from the Dell Outlet - 17" was a bit too big.................ahem......... :)

Not outstanding for the Outlet. I bought one for £405 but with 500GB and 4GB RAM; same spec otherwise.

That is a really good deal. At what point did you find out about the processor? Thanks
#10
After I bought it I thought it wasnt going to be honoured at that price, but i was lucky.

I emailed dell to ask for the full spec,as on the order comfirmation its got the service tag,but entering still wasnt showing anything, anyway dell emailed me the full spec on sunday night.

It shows i3 330m>i5 540m

so an i5 450m

Also interested in an answer to this. I've noticed a few good deals on there today and I'm considering them but most don't mention which graphics card is included. How can we find out more information on a specific item?

Many models especially the Studio series don’t have a choice of GPU so just look at the main Dell site and see what the specs are.
If they have recently upgraded the GPU for that model you may get the older GPU though which isn’t always a significant issue.

Yeah check on the dell website for the specs,if it doesnt show the info your after i suppose you could ring the outlet sales, however it could go within that time, not sure if you could pop it in your basket as it stays there for 15mins,then ring and ask, just a thought

I new with the studio i bought its was going to be at least an 'i3' anything above was a bonus to me.

over on avforums there is someone who recently had a 1564 for around £260 inc vat and delivery

Heat.

A pity, it was seven months ago that my sister spent £440 on a dell outlet 17" Inspiron laptop - it matches these specs, in all but the cpu which was a C2D T6600.
Fits the bill perfect for her editing AVCHD in Premiere.

You have to be very careful posting Outlet links as many like the one you posted don’t work.

Typical for Dell to create an overly complicated web page that is slow & poorly displays the information it contains.

Isn't there a way you can see all their stock in a simple spreadsheet type layout?
Be able to spot the deals in seconds then....

You were literally able to find the best deals in seconds before they revamped it a few months ago. It’s now incredibly slow as well as half of the features being broken!
They must have had a work experience twonk design and code it for them.

Yep - we all know about website "upgrades" - maybe they used the HUKD and Find-DVD web-designers ...
#24
They have a consumer survey page here & prize draw here, through which you are encouraged to vent your frustrations with the terrible website design - I certainly did :)
#25
Their delivery is shocking.

I've bought an Outlet laptop - so it's already made and sat on a shelf somewhere.

The delivery is going to be 'sometime' on 16th August - and their shipping company has just sent me an email telling me to be in between 0800-1800hrs because they can't be more specific than that and that I can't rearrange the day.......

And for that type of service you pay somewhere over £21................that really is appalling service. Royal Mail/Parcelforce would be a damn-sight cheaper and less hassle...........

Got a good deal on the laptop, but will end up waiting 10 days for delivery...........
#26
Are your sure it's an i5?

I looked at some before and both i3 and i5 were listed at the same time, I assumed I'd probably recieve an i3!
#27
just an update mine arrived today, and im very pleased with it.come 3 days early!!

a tiny mark that you can hardly see on the left side is all it has,you really have to tilt the laptop for it to reflect, over £400 off a new price cant complain at all

hi,if it shows i3 and i5 on the same listing,it normaly means it was an i3 but was upgraded to an i5 when it was ordered new.

That has also been my experience. They usually have a packing slip on the outside of the box which gives the actual spec so you can check it without even opening the box.
#30
I guess your looking at the 1764 Benjimoron. I'm thinking of going for it, just not sure on the weight and battery life as I'll be using it for Uni.

Where can you find base specs of the laptops? E.g. 1764, 1749
I only seem to be able to find Inspiron 17 etc

1749 = Studio 17 with dual core i3/i5
1764 = Inspiron 17 with i3/i5

Another unexpected bonus can be the warranty, I purchased 3 laptops in the last 2 months, and when I checked them on the dell support page using the code on the bottom of the computers I found that my studio 1747 i7 has a 3 year warranty collect and return and, the 2 studio 1558's i3 have 1yr next business day onsite warranties which is fantastic, I called the tech support and played dumb and they confirmed the warranties after I gave them the details, they were all scratch and dent but I still have yet to find a single mark on any of them and as pointed out by crgglerock above, a massive saving on price '' Result''

Not that I don't trust you, but have you got a source?

I’ve handled most Dell Inspiron and Studio laptops through my job so know them fairly well through first hand experience. I’ve checked out both the systems you mentioned.
#36
Oh right, thank you.

I did find that the US outlet site lists the details for some of them e.g. 1764 but not sure if the specs are the same in the UK and not every one on there.
#37
Take a look at the Dell Support Site and it shows the model numbers. The current Inspiron 17 models are:

Inspiron 1750 (Core 2 Duo)
Inspiron 1764 (Core i3/i5)

Hi can someone help me. I bought a laptop from the Dell Outlet store at 6 o'clock last night (Wednesday), and no payments have gone through yet. The only thing I got was an aknowledgement order through email and thats it. Is this how they work or do I need to worry about my order not going through. I have also checked my bank and they said nothing has come up yet. oO

Don't worry too much. It takes a day or so to authorise the payment, then they only take the money after they've dispatched it............so I would expect that in the next day or so you bank will be able to tell you that the payment is waiting to be taken and then when it's dispatched the debit will show up - at least that's what happened with my credit card recently........

They take an aaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeee to actually deliver the bloomin' thing though............and aren't flexible at all.........and expensive........ :)
