I think you might be right about the processor, but it is a dual core .... Just looking on the main dell site they do a better spec one (I think) for 349 delivered its got less ram, but maybe the processor compensates...I dont know as it sonly a single core, also got a smaller hard drive

The CPU is dual core. If you're after office apps and web browsing, it'll be fine. 3GB of RAM helps nicely there. It won't be any good for gaming, but the video card isn't good enough for that anyway.

I agree. £320 is too much for an outlet notebook. Better to look out for a new one. I got a new dual core T3000 2gb ram 160gb hdd win7 for £325 two weeks ago.

You’re one of the many people that don’t realise that current Celerons are good budget CPUs. They are Core 2 Duos with less cache and some advanced features such as Virtualisation disabled. Provided they have 1MB of cache as this does the performance will be fine.

The problem with this specification is that the CPU doesn’t support EIST and it has a 4 cell battery which is a very bad combination and will lead to poor battery life.
It’s hardly cheap as well for the Outlet, I’ve seen much better.

Surely the Lenova from Tesco warrants a post in its own right - seems a much better deal than alternative laptops posted over past seven days. I ordered two as presents. Not sure how to acquire Windows 7 for 16 euros though.

Thank you for this information.
Tried for the Acer 5532 at Currys on Tuesday - accepted payment then order failed - was gutted. Think the Lenova deal is much better. Net cost c£5 more for each one. Probably wont bother with W7upgrade.

Dell Outlet have increased their prices sharply over the last month.

They are moving the Outlet base to Hungary, so not expecting good things from them in the future.

I know things change when stuff moves around, but the outlet cannot possibly be expecting to sell refurbs/returns and obsolete stock at more that new products surely ?

I dont think the outlet prices have gone up, its just that all Dell prices have gone up across the board
