Dell now have loads of 'refurb' Mini 10's available from their outlet. The standard spec seems to be priced at £171.31 + VAT though there are some machines with a selection of extras (different coloured covers, built in 3G, Wireless 'N', TV Tuners, Bluetooth, 6-Cell batteries, maybe even the higher res screen?) priced from £181.57 + VAT.

I found one with the "Purple Muse" back cover, 6-Cell battery and built in 3G for £181.57 + VAT, still trawling through the list though trying to decide if there's anything better.

Free delivery and a one year 'collect and return' warranty are included as standard.

It's also worth mentioning that Dell have also removed the Mini 10 from their main site this week. While i'm not saying these are new machines it does seem curious that suddenly there are HUNDREDS of 'refurb' Mini 10's in stock.

It's £171 without VAT, £196 ish with it. also the free delivery is only uptil the 4th....less than 2 hours left.

Fair point on the VAT, i missed that. Guess not quite such a scorching hot deal then (although still not bad by any means). Could a mod edit?

The free delivery is up until Midnight on the 4th though, there's over a day left yet ;-)

I notice there are 1010s and 1011s on the Dell outlet site. Are the 1010s the mini 10 and the 1011 mini 10v?
#4
I think they are preparing for a new netbook.
#5
Yeah, 1010 is the Mini 10, 1011 is Mini 10v. Can't remember what the Mini 9 and 12 were now. It's confusing, though if you select the "Product Specification" it does say "Dell Mini 10" on there.

I think it's partly that and partly down to Windows 7. If they remove the 10 from their product line and rebrand the 10v to the Mini 10 they can subtly increase prices while looking like they've decreased them, paying for the extra liscencing costs for Windows 7 in the process. Any new Dell netbook isn't likely this year now, unless it's an Atom model they already have the market covered with the Mini 9, Mini 10(v) and Mini 11. A refresh will come with the new Atom chips.

Thanks satchef, just need to convince the wife that we need one :-)

How do these compare with the Acer ONE D150

A lot of the reviews out there for the Mini 10, says the GMA 500 graphics drivers are a bit crap and will cause problems playing back video or streaming over internet. Due to this I opted for the Mini 10V (1011) which has better reviews overall and performance under XP, and will allow you to install OSX if you fancied it. Plus you can upgrade the ram too, its not easy but possible, whereas the Mini 10 has the 1GB soldered onto the mainboard apparently. If you can find one with the 6 cell battery they are worth getting when compared to the other full priced netbooks out there that come with standard 3 cells.

Other optionals if you can find them, is ones with bluetooth or 3G card. I wouldn't bother with the TV card as they are a ****** to get a decent signal on and if you're on the move i.e. in the car, they are next to useless.

Good luck...only a day left for free delivery!

I ordered a 1011 (10v) a couple of days ago for £161 delivered. I was gonna order one off their main site at £200 but then I discovered the outlet. Due to get delivery tomorrow and really looking forward to getting it.

Wonder if they are planning to launch the insprion 11z in the UK market (yes it's not techinally a netbook)

Yes it's a celeron - M but you may find it's actually quicker than the atom 1.6 in some things because the differences in design

bargain! did that have the 6-cell battery, 3g, and a 160gb hard drive? the only one i can find remotely near that price (£170 delivered) is a ubuntu one with an 8gb ssd.
#12
Be careful these Mini 10's (1010) don't appear to have webcams - nothing mentioned in the specs unlike the Mini 10v's (1011) which all list "1.3 megapixel Fixed bezel-mounted camera" under MISC.

These prices are more than they were over the weekend aswell when I snagged three machines ...

Scratched or Dented System White N270 XP 160GB Webcam 3-cell £158.42 delivered
Scratched or Dented System Black N270 XP 160GB Webcam 3-cell £158.42 delivered
Refurbished System Black N270 XP 160GB n-Wireless Webcam 6-cell £202.91 delivered

The first two get delivered tomorrow!

can't seem to find any with 6 cell (except one scratched and dented in pink!) and minimum 120gb hd and webcam
if i could find one for around £180 i would buy it
maybe they will go down in price after the free delivery ends
otherwise seems like a good deal

Yes mate that's the one I got. I don't need much room on there cos it's purely for internet so 8Gb is mammoth for my needs - like how it's a SSD too.

3 cell battery but a lot of the time it will be plugged into the mains, so again that's no problem.

Also Ubuntu is better for my needs on a netbook. All in all it's the perfect lappy for me - just wish it had 3G but beggars can't be choosers :-)

Ok i ordered one Sunday, and has just arrived, heres what I ordered

Its a Inspiron 1010, in Jade green, 1gb memory, Atom Z520, 160 gb HD, Its also come with HD screen and HDMi out. Just typing on it now, it has a 1.3 webcam, the finish is fantastic. It was a refurb from the outlet, but you cant tell, its brand new.

Price was £187 inc VAT and free delivery

I thought I was ordering the mini 10v but glad I got this, the screen is awesome as the glass goes from end to end rather than a protruding black bezel on the mini10v

Oh it also has a 6cell battery, sticks out a bit at the bottom but is fine for me

Just bought a couple of Mini 9's for £136.50 each. Quite pleased with that.
