Free Delivery should have finished yesterday, but it seems to still be working.
Be careful though, there are lots of PCs and laptops that are not a good deal in here.
Also watch out for the delivery charge popping up in the basket. To be sure of any deal, you will need to take it all the way through to the checkout.
It may be worth looking for the odd jem;
this morning I bagged the following at 222.07 + VAT (£260.93 all in)

System 1 Specs Subtotal:£222.07
VOSTRO NB 1000 (System Identifier. EPBZ5H90) £276.71

Well spotted !
I've just picked up an XPS1330 for £593.69 incl vat.
I reckon it would have cost me about £770 on the Dell Home site. Not sure what graphics or wireless card is included, but it doesn't matter to me.

XPS M1330 CORE 2 DUO T7300 2.00GHz, 800
Operating System: English - Vista Home Premium
Memory: 2048MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
Hard Disk Drive: 160GB (5, 400 rpm) Sata Hard Drive
NoteBook Screen: 13.3 WXGA (1280x800) White-LED Display with TrueLife?
CD Read-Write Drive: 8xDVD+/-RW Slim Slot-Load Drive
MISC: English/Irish Ship Accessories - Power Cord
Uk/Irish Internal Keyboard (QWERTY)
Primary 9-cell 85WHr Li-Ion Battery
Tuxedo Black 0.3 MP Camera for White-LED
European Dell TrueMobile 355 internal Bluetooth Module

Heat and rep added !

Offers valid with the purchase of ALL DELL OUTLET Systems. For a limited time only.
Due to End 24/01/2008.

So no need to rush, just keep an eye open for a good priced unit to arrive. Be careful though as a lot of kit is priced higher there atm than on the main dell site.

You're right it is available for all Dell Outlet purchases until 24th Jan.
But at the moment The money off is £54.64 pre vat (Buy Now Save Voucher in Accessories), which works out at £64.20 incl vat rather than the £55 quoted by Dell.
Don't know if it is an error on Dell's part. :?

I know what you mean about being careful. Some notebooks with lower spec's were dearer than the one I got !

Looks like a jumble sale looking through it, nothing worth buying all high priced.
#5
Why do Dell only put tiny hard drives in machines they want £500, Its crazy.

UK laptop prices are a disgrace! £250 buys a Core 2 duo laptop in the USA -jusr look at slickdeals.net

They do have some good priced machines, but they are snapped up very quickly by people using trackers.

Bris, I think trackers refer to people who run sophisticated scripts to hoover up all the good deals first. This was common until August when Dell put a visual verification onto all additions to your basket. This made it much harder for an automated input to a basket.

maybe I'm being stupid... can I clarify:

delivery is free and you're saying there's a voucher to take another £64.20 off as well? Meaning there are laptops available for around £230...

If that's right can you point me in the direction of the voucher/code please?

Thanks

There's still VAT to add on those prices, so a laptop for £230 (unless it's very base spec) is extremely unlikely. At present the final price you pay is roughly the same as the unit cost shown in the stockroom screens. The discount is effectively cancelled out by VAT. For example, the cheapest Inspiron laptop (which is as basic as a laptop gets these days: AMD 2.0GHz, 512MB, 60GB, CDRW, 14.1") currently works out at £299.

The delivery charge is discounted automatically; the £54 off is activated by selecting an option in your cart. No codes needed.

Now, I've gone back to the Outlet and have seen that there are laptops with lesser specs than the one I ordered, all selling for over £100 more than I paid! Not sure why that is. Does the condition have a bearing on the price or are they all refurbished to "Like New" condition?

...bit worried that I've bought a lemon

No you havnt, dell play lucky dip with the pricing, so all the good hi spec stuff with low prices goes quickly leaving the hi priced low spec stuff there until dell reprice it lower.

Has anyone received their outlet PC yet and can comment on its condition? ... I received my XPS M1330 laptop a few days ago, and it is in excellent condition. It was cheaper than other lower spec'ed laptops. I'm well chuffed as in addition to the spec I was quoted it had the top of the range wi-fi card, the 128M graphics card, a fingerprint reader, a spare remote, a notebook case, and even an A4 leather document holder/CD case (Thanks twinkle). Maybe I was just lucky :-D

I'll happily buy from Dell Outlet again.

Woohoo, that sounds like you get the whole accessories package same as if you bought the system from the main site! Did you get the earbuds too? :p

No earbuds. I'll have to send it back. :giggle:

Wow - seem to be much more expensive today than yesterday. Unless, all the cheaper machines have been snapped up this morning...
#19
Now finished.

Alot of the Outlet prices now seem alot cheaper than they have been for the past week - a coincidence?!
