Reasonable budget LCD monitor -

Dell ST2220M 21.5" currently has 25% off and free shipping.

However I have found that £60 cash back is being offered by Dell when you trade in an old monitor (working and with power adaptor and main lead).

Don't forget Quidco is currently at 10% making the possible price about £47 (ish).

Hope this helps someone. 25% off ends today though!

Weemee

P.S. - You can also get to the URL for the cash back via the Dell website (in the monitors section!)

yep but you got to ship it to them ( not exactly enviromentally friendly!)

3.Send your old display or printer with a copy of your claim form and a copy of the sales invoice or receipt (for your new display/printer) within 21 days of the invoice date
4.Provided everything matches your description we'll send your cash via bank transfer plus £10 to help with your shipping costs
#8

aggr tempted by this my monitor is 10 years old flat screen, but i also would like to upgrade my desk top pc but cant spend the money on it yet.
hmmmm do i buy this and then get the expensive part in a couple months?

i did post a deal on parcel force voucher and go through quidco for £3.00 cash back, dont know if it still works but they may be the cheapest to send a monitor back?
#10

Good deal if you can be bothered to send in your old monitor - watch out for the T&Cs:

http://www.rewardandrecycle.com/_Content/en-US/terms-and-conditions.htm

Definition of "Working" Display powers up and should not be damaged. The power supply and mains lead must be present and fully operational. General wear and tear (scratches and light marks) are accepted. If a device is found to be non working or damaged a revised valuation will be offered that is equivalent to 50% of the reward and recycle valuation.

A reduction in the value of the reward may be applicable if the monitor suffers from any of the following damage; a scratched screen, a shattered screen, a smashed case, a smashed screen, an electronic error, transportation damage, a broken case, a cracked case, a heavily scratched case, a heavily scuffed case, a missing VGA cable, a missing power adapter, faulty colour, a faulty display, faulty PSU/adaptor, more than 3 dead pixels, a missing plinth, an etched logo, a security device attached to the monitor, missing stand or case parts, a missing rear cover, a missing front panel cover. Re-valuations are final and at Dataserv's discretion , no further negotiations will be entered into.

wonder where all the old monitors end up ?

For shipping your old crt I'd heartily recommend Parcelsave. They now use UPS and cost £5.95+VAT (£7.14) for up to 30kg. Should be enough for most monitors :)

We've been using them since they started (a couple of years ago) and have sent hundreds of consignments. They're been pretty good and the recent switch to UPS (instead of UK Mail) has been a good thing.

21. Please note we are unable to accept hand delivery of trade ins

23. Address for trade in devices is: Dataserv, Hawthorne Road, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 3BP

I'm pretty sure my old Sony CRT has more than 3 dead pixels though, so only worth £30. Should I send in my existing LCD...?

That's weird they still have to accept "deliveries" from courier drivers.
They also have a e*** account where they sell 2nd hand equipment and allow cash on collection.

Has anyone had any experience with Dell Reward and Recycle? might do some research first before I go ahead.

Can yo order say 2 monitors and 2 tradeins ? My basket keeps showing £110 even if i just do one monitor ?
#29
Worth noting, according to the product page the unit comes with a '3 year Next Business Day Exchange Service'.

+£2.20 if collecting from a residential address (£9.34).

I thought this was for delivery to a residential address rather than collection from one, but I've never done either so could well be wrong!
#31
opps - silly me - the £60 refund comes after you send back the monitor / claim accepted !

Reduction in trade in value if more than 3 dead pixels, will they say the same if your new one is like that?
#33
I've got a monstrous 19" (CRT monitor). Good deal, though I can't be bothered to package it and post it off.

Check out Interparcel, may even be a better price than parcelmonkey.

It's weird. If you add "residential address" the price jumps to £16.32!!

That's a bit crap. On that basis, I humbly withdraw my recommendation! Unless of course you're able to get it collected from your place of work, in which case they're definitely worth using!

why not just google the make and model .. shouldn't be that hard to find
#37
about 3kg? stick it on your bathroom scales!
#38
Just ordered one!
#39
I have a spare TFT monitor what courier would be best ('cause it's not a CRT)?
#40
http://www.parcel2go.com/ I normally find to be the cheapest for shipping and I've never had a problem with their service. I would be concerned about those T&C's though as it looks as if they have quite a few bases covered to give you less discount.
