Great price however It can't be wall mounted can it? :(

Looks like a great deal to me.

if i get the dell speaker bar thingy with this, and hook the monitor up to my xbox 360 through HDMI would it work correctly and play the sound, or would i need more peripherals.

Also, can anyone recommend any good HDMI Monitor / speaker combos for a 360 elite?

cheers!
#4
no i don't think you'll need anything else as HDMI delivers both picture and sound so you should be ok:thumbsup:

Yep, hdmi goes into monitor and the dell speaker bar, or any other speakers plugs, into the monitors audio out port.

good deal for this monitor

also had a look at the alienware monitors like £300......had a good laugh.
alienware can be so much better if they price their products reasonably.

I have the Dell sp2309W along with the speaker bar and when I play my ps3 through the hdmi port the sound does come though it as well; So it if it works the same it should do. I had to change how the speaker bar was setup so it goes into the monitor (line out) and my pc plugs into the monitor (line in), hope this helps. :)

oops, just noticed that Wicked Lester beat me to it... :)

What is the quality of the sound like from the Sound bar? Is it a bit tinny and quiet like usually on monitor speakers or suprisingly good? How would you rate it out of 5 bananas?

Its Ok but not great, so only about 2 banana's :) But its fine for me, I play itunes and the odd game on my pc and its fine. Its also OK on Fifa on the PS3 :) But with no sub, they is no bass and it is really like a decent ish portable speaker sound but got no clutter on my desk :)

Delete your previous post immediately! :-D Agreed, the sound isn't bad, like a reasonable TV speaker really.

Nice monitor but I got two on my desk with one hardly being used on my dual set-up. Plus I can't afford another. :P

not HDMI as thisone is is but otherwise thanks for heads up

Only 5ms, 23" rather than 24" for that resolution is going to mean less readability on text and "Energy efficient Consume less energy with a monitor that uses 2 CCFL lamps as opposed to the 4 lamps used by conventional monitors." could also read as "Uneven brightness from a monitor that uses 2 CCFL lamps as opposed to the 4 lamps used by better monitors."

Not voting either way, I'm holding out for a better spec in this price range but if you're not a picky ****** like me its probably a great deal.

Another tempter....hmmm

Got this monitor with the Dell Studio deal £700 one I think its deleted.. No real problems at all been using it for 2 months would definitely recommend.. Only one problem was the flickering it happened once and I fiddled around with settings and its fixed..

Power Consumption:
22.5W(typical) / 30W (Maximum)

This is great. No more than many a 17", screen.

OTOH, the scan one states around 50 watts.

Anyone know how long this offer is due to last for?

Also, are there any 23"-24" 16:10 monitors available for under £200. 16:10 ones seem to be pricier.
