Got this e-mail today This laptop should be £744

Deal end 25th Nov, so you need to be quick

There are lots of "giveaways" with this...

One of these saves upto 565 quid, which in my opinion are real savings for the spec of the machine

This is available through the Dell Home site and not Outlet.

It's Dell Home and not the Outlet.

It's also been this price for a few weeks under a different e-value code. If you use the 5% off code in the vouchers section, then it comes to £474.05 delivered. Don't forget to use a cashback site.

Best value Studio 1555 there is at the mo'

I dont know why its put it as a dell outlet deal

I didn't select anything other than post the direct link

Sorted the "go to deal" link and corrected the merchant.

Dell must have got that price out of a Christmas cracker :-D

I quite like the Studio 15 model, but the dedicated Mobility 4570 performance is a lot lower than I expected http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html

Is this not about the going rate for this spec. I was forced into buying a laptop from Argos at the weekend (I know, I know) and got an Asus with the same processor and ram for £399.99. Now I admit that the hard drive was half the size and it's only got integrated graphics, but it has wireless n built in and I'd argue that Asus is a better brand than Dell. I also strongly suspect that Argos isn't the cheapest place to buy a laptop, and if I could have shopped around I'd have got more for my money. Not voting either way as I think it's probably an ok price, and happy to be told otherwise if I'm wrong, but the original price seems very inflated.

Is this the Asus computer you are refering to?

If it is the processor is a bit lower spec, but everything else is the same, but I am sure the dedicated graphics card of the Dell makes this a worthy buy

I agree, a similar spec, but not too sure about full service life of an Asus. If we were comparing to an inspiron I would agree with your statement, but these Studio machines are reasonably well built

With Dell warranties, I always wait until the last 2-3 weeks before it runs out and see what they offer, because usually they extend to the 3 years for not a lot of money

Saying that I have been running Dell desktops and laptops at work since 2001 and not once have I had to use their warranty because they have never failed. My current laptops all 7 of them have been going strong since march 2005 in quite heavy industrial conditions

This is actually a good price for this spec studio 1555, on the outlet site they want £536 for this exact spec refurbished...

Cold due to giving no info at all.

As this is only my 3rd post, could you please explain what you mean so I can do better next time

To me it seems pointless listing full specs in this listing when ist a simple click, but it seems I may be wrong

3rd post or not it looks fine to me, anyway it would seem that its one more post than the member making the criticism...:whistling:

Choosing to vote your deal cold for not being bothered to click on a link is hardly a valid reason, it's totally ridiculous.

Well, I will probably be getting it in neck from dcx_badass at some point now but I couldn't let that one pass I am afraid......in my opinion it was a slightly pathetic comment.

Yes that is the one I got, although I think the spec on the Argos site is wrong as it quite clearly says T4300 on the sticker on the front of my laptop, so it is the same cpu - I thought I was going mad there for a minute when I saw 2 people saying the processor isn't the same!

Hi, it must be a typo on the Argos site then :-)

Glad you like it, I will still stick with my Dell's

I think like many people on here, if you want a Dell, to wait for the 12days of Christmas. They are generally cracking deals.

I've not actually got anything against Dell's, having recommended them to a few people (I may well have even got one myself if I could have bought from anywhere other than Argos.) I have read many times however that Asus have a very good reputation.

It's also got face recognition login which I'm sure I'll get fed up with it soon as I can probably type my password faster than it recognises me, but for the moment it's cool!

The face recognition is great, I would love that...I am not joking, I thought The dell had the coolest tools with the webcam, you can make yourself look like a Cat or a scary monster, even add glasses and a mustache, but logging in with my ugly mug...fantastic :-)

You have made my night.....how sad am I???
