Dell post "template" derived from MikeT's numerous Dell computer deals

Don;t forget Quidco or EPP plans too!
[mod]#2
Dont quite know where the poster is getting his lowest price from. £569? its £597 after coupon and thats an increase in price, it was £587 since 27 August and has just gone up in price.

Sorry, the £569 was a typo and I had edited when i edited first post above.

The £587 you mentioned for this ecode was with P7350 (2.0 GHz) processor yesterday.
So for £10 extra you are getting the P8700 (2.53Ghz)

which is more than worth the extra £10, I';m sure you;ll agree

Ill give this heat it sa good deal!

Thanks.
Unfortunately not enough to negate the impact of the cold callers :(

or maybe they were just misled by MikeT's negative comment above?
as he hasn;t been back to confirm that the processor previously offered for £10 less was the inferior P7350 (2.0 GHz) one

Similar to this deal three weeks ago except the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor is P8700 (2.53Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz) where before it was P8600 (2.40Ghz, 3MB, 1066MHz):-

Yep.
That was a great deal but was just available for a couple of days (bank holiday weekend) - actually the deal i got the "template" from.

After those 2 days, the system went back up to £649 delivered (w/o voucher) until today.

Another thing to note is that this has hdmi (unlike the current Dell inspiron notebooks) so perfect for playing back high def content on your hdtv's at 1080p

I bought one of these and think its okay - but it doesnt seem to be much better than my old Gateway I got two and a half years ago: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/44808/amazing-gateway-laptop-core-2-duo-t/?t=44808&page=11%20EXPIRED

Its a bit faster, but not that much. The screens a bit brighter (but its smaller). I would say the build-quality is pretty similar. Sitting on my lap though, the Dell seems to get quite hot. A computer repairman told me that a lot of laptops burn out because of this, and that you have to keep a good eye on ventilation. Is this an issue with Dells ?

I was a bit busy to get back earlier, I cant confirm either way on the previous cpu, its as much as I can do to keep tabs on over 200 ecode prices from dell, I cant note all the specs too each day.
Now the pricing errors are out the way its just about the same deal as was on for the 2 day special, not too shabby ;-) I heated it for you.

Pity we all missed out on this one, I couldnt post it quick enough and dell fixed it.

No worries. I would have thought the upgrade in processor would have stood out.

As I have been looking at these laptops the past couple of weeks for a couple of friends. I can confirm that the laptop available on this ecode was

the P7350 (2Ghz) with 500GB HDD for £587 (£620 pre voucher)

In fact i was actually recommending to get the ecode N0053507 with the (P8600 2.4Ghz) for £649 (pre-voucher)

However today's deal is obviously much better with the P8700 at just £10 above the previous price for the P3750

Thanks for the heat

again, it's the 64 bit Windows version with no option to change to 32 bit. Check out if your software/hardware will run on 64 bit.

Why do these offers come with Windows 64 bit?

wow, u get up early.
Am a nightowl so would have to stay up til the early hours of morn to get in with deals like that.

Interesting thing is that ecode gives the exact same spec as this deal and same price
However the discount is different! :S

Because 64 bit is the future and allows you to get the most out of the processor. 32 bit is so old now that we're hitting the limits imposed on it. You will find Windows Vista 32 bit will not recognise the whole 4gb of ram as 32 bit can only address a certain amount of ram. Upgrade your hardware if it does not work with 64 bit as chances are it's so old there's better out there now anyway!

I'm very tempted to get this but would want to get quidco. How do you navigate to this laptop other than using the URL (which might not track on quidco, safer to use links from the main dell page)? I can't find it anywhere and if I go from the studio 15 front page then you have to manually add the processor which works out more than £100 more than this.

Voted hot btw.
[mod]#18
Skipster go to dell via Quidco then search for ecode N0053506

Ah fantastic thank you!!

would this be any good for adobe, 3d graphic modelling work?

been looking for a decent laptop for a while now but keep missing out on deals with decent spec's if anyone can help
#24
That voucher has expired - I can't get this down under £670, more if it's the 500gb hard disk.

I've been umming and ahhing over this or an XPS, and the 4850 looks a better card than the one the XPS 15" comes with (GT240m)
#25
Make sure you are using the Ecode and voucher, works fine for me.
#26
Offer still works :/.
