Hello everyone

First deal I am posting after being through this site for long !!!

Just found this on dell website. Looks like a good configuration for £549 to me. However does not include Bluetooth for which you have to pay £35 (approx) extra.

New 5% voucher makes this £521.56 - MikeT

Dont forget Quidco 5%.

Last night the website was saying this price was available till 29th July and today says 12th August.

A little bit of haggling with Dell Salesline may also work, however you would miss quidco

Not to put a downer on this deal, but as a gaming laptop (which is what it may be though of as with a 512MB graphics card) it isn't as good as one might think!

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4570.13885.0.html and the comparison list, http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html

It is actually under the "HD 3670" so simply following the numbers won't tell you how good the card is!

It's still a hot deal, but any potential laptop gamers should beware

This isn't designed to be a gaming laptop though. :) A serious gaming laptop will cost a whole lot more than £550.00.

I think the way Dell categorises its laptops is that only the XPS family which is a gaming laptop. Studio is never targetted at gaming audience

You can play solitaire just fine on those...

Don't forget you don't need an ubber laptop to play games that are couple of years old.

XPS laptops aren't exclusively for gaming, far from it ... :(

altho not a beast at gaming its still a hot deal, better spec than the toshiba deal at argos i posted. heat added.

I never said it was a "serious gaming laptop!"

However with dedicated memory rather than shared, some may assume it would be a good gaming laptop, don't want anyone to be disappointed if they make a purchase. If it wasn't intended to do anything graphically intense, it wouldn't have dedicated RAM.
Still a good price!

Just ordered the laptop!!! For £521 and for the spec I think it is well worth it.

It says it could take 10 working days- Hopefully receive it soon!

I bought this laptop recently when they had the free colour upgrade but sent it back. The heat from the touchpad area was unbearable! Ive since bought a Samsung R522 - excellent laptop. Nice LED screen.
Took 4 weeks to get delivered and about the same to try get it sent back!
