Morning all.

These seem like an excellent deal. Yes they are refurb, but they include a 12 month warranty with Dell, and all Dell refurbs I have had in the past have been excellent (maybe a couple of slight marks). If you receive it and aren't happy, you can always return it to your local Currys store or arrange collection. Use the attached 5% voucher to get it down from £399.97 to £379.97 and delivery is free. Quidco also available at 3% (roughly £11.39 making this £368.58 if it pays out).

Product code: 758254
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Premium
4 GB Memory
320 GB Hard Drive
Blu-Ray Combo DVD drive
15.4" TrueLife Widescreen
256MB ATI Radeon 3450 Graphics
Colour - Blue
Wireless Enabled

I bought one of these back in September for £430 IIRC, so at £50 less it is a steal. They also have a red one, but that is £30 more (£429.99 - product code: 684755). Stock is usually very limited on th refurbs, so get one ASAP if you're after one.

They have some other refurbs in, but as far as value for money goes, the Studio 15 is a robust machine and this spec is excellent.

also does anyone know if these have built in webcam and mic
#3
does it have hdmi for watching the bluray on my lcd tv?
#4
HDMI, yes, though I haven't actually tried mine yet.

Webcam, possibly. Mine did come with one built in just above the screen, but they are available with and without and the Currys description doesn't say either way.

Bargain given the specs, that sort of money usually only gets you the standard Pentium Dual Core laptops. To get a decent core 2 duo cpu and blu-ray is great.

thanks for the info...
couldnt see any mention of HDMI on their site..

I have the 1555 version of this lappy and it has HDMI, webcam in the screenbezel and mic so as this is a better spec it should have it too.

I am VERY tempted! I love my 1555 but BluRay, decent graphics etc is tempting!

Just as a side note too, this model will most likely have the touch sensitive quick access buttons above the keyboard. I encountered a problem with mine (eject function not working properly) and found a lot of talk online of a similar problem. However, there is a fix out there; basically the latest bios firmware needs to be applied (if you don't already have it), and then run a software update (again a flash) for the control panel itself.

You mightn't have a problem, but it's juts a note in case you do (like I did) or are put off by the reports online.

a returned customer item so may have light scratches etc on it but would have been tested to make sure it works

thanks,, just worried that it may have been ,,say broken in some way and then mended,, but if i can get enough cover it sounds good for me.

Thanks for the info.

My 1555 has the media buttons up on the Function Keys. I think all new Studios are like this. So if this does have the touch sensitive buttons, as per the image, then this may be an older model. 1535??

Anyone know what my Studio 1555 may sell for?

T4300 Dual Core
3Gb
250GB
15.4" LED screen

Mint condition bought at CPW last November for £379 and upgraded to W7.

If I could get £300 for this I might go for the Currys one.

Couldn't say for definite, but if it was last November and you registered it with Dell, I would assume it has warranty with Dell until November this year? You can check on the Dell website if you have the system tag (on the base of the laptop usually). Warranties tend to play an important part with laptops, and because Dell's warranty is with them, it's a great selling point.

Studio 15's tend to get reasonable resale value on eBay from what I have seen; if you go down that route, make sure you include warranty information.
