Of the models "on offer" I think ecode 305-N0453508 is good value with £80 off anyway plus the £40 off for upgrading the screen and free delivery too. Delivered price is £458.99
To get to it either use the ecode finder on Dells site or change the model once you have clicked through.

Spec is:

Hot.Good deal
#4
Hot :) Upgraded spec including a better graphics setup would be my choice.

Very good deal. I haven't had a dell laptop in many years, I always though the quality of the keys etc was a bit dodgy. Have they improved much in the past 5 years?

I have been looking at the P8600 spec Studio 15 (Currently £559 without discounts) for a while and just noticed this morning about the screen upgrade discount!

The only shame is that the 10% off code I had ended last night so the price is about the same again. If there is a new 10% off code comes and the screen upgrade discount remains then i will order ASAP. I suspect the screen upgrade discount is a price error though, and while i think it will be honoured i dont think it will last very long.

whta kind of finance options do dell have, my gf's family wanna get something, and this would be ideal if they could get a buy now pay 12 months etc
#8
excellent deal.. only Blu-Ray missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
#9
Its a shame the 10% off voucher ended midnight last night

i heard the studio 15 is about to get a revamp...

Hot deal..

i heard the studio 15 is about to get a revamp...

It is a year old now, and I *think* that it has been revamped in one country to include a 15.6" screen. Google around and you might find it.

Still a very hot deal, good specs ,low price, monitor upgrade, if it had the 10% discount too it really would be on fire IMO
#13
wait a couple of days and the 5%/10% off coupons will be back
[mod]#14
And the screen free upgrade and discount for doing so will be gone....

I have had a 17" 9400 for about 2 1/2 years now and it's been brilliant. I'd happily buy Dell again.

Steer clear of these. We purchased two at Christmas (Studio 1537s), and they both have problems (the same problems). Dell support is a waste of time, and their engineers keep sending them back with the same faults! One has been replaced, and it too has the same problem as the one it replaced! Dell appear to be unable to fix the problems, and they won't even acknowledge the faults. Nothing but trouble.

And we're not alone: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19243676/19466199.aspx#19466199

I feel sorry for you. But I've had one (6400) for over two years and it is Brilliant.
Couple of my friends also got one and they are also quite happy (just one them say about wifi problem though).

Yeah, the old/most Dell laptops are good (for the money). We also have an old Inspiron 1300 (still going strong), and I have a Dell Precision laptop at the office. We've always had Dell laptops (not desktops). It's just the Studio line afaik. If you google, you'll see that it's a world wide issue. I wish I'd done that before spending money on them. We've experienced most of the reported problems so far; phantom ejects, refusing to boot, volume light stays on (locking the machine) etc. Most of the problems seem to be down to the touch sensitive buttons across the top of the machine. The fact that Dell are incapable of fixing the problems is the issue. It'd be a lovely machine without the numerous problems. Dealing with Dell's tech support in India is an experience in itself! [sigh]

nice find as usual mike

No Blu-ray. No way...
#22
Does anyone know if the Studio 15 includes a sd card reader? I can't see any mention of it anywhere on their site. I know the Inspiron includes one as standard but don't know if this model does.
#23
I think they have removed the 1440x900 option!
#24
Yep, think I missed it. Can't get the 1440x900 option to come up.
#25
Hi, im new to the site so im not sure how this works.

I tried going through with the deal and the cheapest i can get it is at £399, how do i get the extra £40 off so its £359 like the deal says? thanks

if theres a code somewhere in the post, i just cant see it, so i apologise :(
[mod]#26
Dell have corrected their error by removing the option to upgrade now so its error and offer over....

If you can't afford a £400 purchase in one go, you probably don't need it.

read my post...I dont want nor need it, Its for my GF's family and I wanted something for them thats value for money, and that they can afford to pay off. Dont make assumptions about me, because trust me I can afford £400, and my XPS wipes the floor with that lappy. :p
