That's because it's gone. The best Dell Outlet deals don't last long.

Some real bargains on there.
What is Warranty etc like?
I've seen stuff from their outlet store before but these prices look veryyyy tempting next time I actually /need/ a laptop.

I buy all my laptops from Dell Outlet. In fact I have two Inspiron 1564s on the way. The warranty is pretty much the same as the laptops bought with the basic warranty on the main Dell site. As it happens I have never had any problems and they have always looked as new.

Plenty left from £405 inc vat, just search in dropdown box for laptops then i5 in processor section and then sort by price its not that hard

For some reason dell outlet links never work correctly but the laptops are still there if you search under i5 in processor dropdown box
#10
For the spec and the price, this is a great deal, if there is still stock. Hot for me.

You are quite right. I was searching under the model section for the studio 1558 and they aren't coming up there.

I believe the price you mentioned does not include VAT.
With VAT the price is £489.40 for the below spec:

Intel i5-520M (2.4GHz) Mobile CPU
Graphics : 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
500GB Serial ATA (7200RPM)

I managed to bag one earlier with the 1080p display and HD5470 but it was a little more money. Voted Hot.
#16
Cheapest seems to be around 428 now, is this still a good price?
#17
Iv found one for 447, but it has 1GB graphics card, but only a 320gb hard drive, same spec as in the op, so 40 quid more. Are the extra graphics worth the sacrafice in hard drive size, in terms of value for money? Any opinions would greatly help, as you can tell, im no expert!

The extra graphics RAM is fairly pointless on a slow GPU like this especially with the standard resolution screen; so you're paying more money for less really. I'd be patient and see what comes up in the next day or two.

The 1gb graphics is a HD5470 so does give higher performance but I'm not sure if it would show any big benefit on the standard res screen unless you want to try some gaming on this laptop. It is fairly easy to upgrade the hard drive in the future but near impossible to upgrade the graphics so I guess its horses for courses.

It is also worth noting that they quote "Please note Estimated Delivery Time on Orders placed and credit cleared from now is approximately 10 Working Days. This is a temporary increase in Delivery Time." :?

Thanks for the opinions guys. To be honest, I dont really store much on the Hard Drive, so not too concered about that. Mainly just looking to play footy manager, not top spec games or anything.

Does any one know what are the original prices for these machines, i mean by how many percents theprice is knocked. Also how good the cosmetic appearenceof these scraych and dent pieces in real life is, you can not say much from the dwscription that dell provides on the website

You need to go to the Dell website and price up the relevant specification in order to find the normal price.

I have only bought Certified Refurbished machines and these have been exactly as new.

Most people who have bought Grade 1 refurbs have said that they are in perfect condition but they might not always be.

Thanks for the reply i will do as advised, any one else with more experiences

I watched all day and eventually went for this for £493.50 including VAT (£420 without).

It's got the faster processor, 1080p screen and better WLAN card than the others. It's too late now anyway, but is this a good price as I've only been watching them today?

That seems pretty good to me. I've paid slightly more for a similar spec machine but I'm still happy.
#30
Cheers. It should be better than the inspiron 1300 I'm on now anyway!
#31
Thanks for the heads up. My Mother-In-Law is looking for a Dell laptop at the moment. What sort of condition are these laptops in? (I bought a Dimension five years ago from the Dell Outlet, and it looked like it had been opened with a tin opener - I got a 1200 quid PC after I complained, though!)

What's the return and warranty policy on Dell Outlet items, like? Many Thanks : )

You'd find it very hard to beat that spec for the price but who cares anyway as that's a cracking deal.
#33
Mine arrived today, very happy with it. Not a mark on it as far i can see even though it was scratch and dent, and the spec is better than expected with a 1080 screen and backlit keyboard :)
#34
Mine has arrived and it is perfect as well even though I ordered a scratch and dent grade 1. Couldn't be happier :-D
#35
Nice to hear your happy with your purchases guys.

I ordered the 1558 a few days ago with i5, 4096MB and 500GB for £420 (scratch and dent 1). Hoping I get the better 1080 screen and backlit keyboard also...fingers crossed!
#36
I've not logged on here for a while but ermm what have Dell done to the Dell Outlook site?! looks like the normal site now !
#37
I wondered that too. And with that, went all the good bargains. Shouldn't have held off getting one...

Hi! I'm not very "tech"-y but I just ordered one (mainly for my uni coursework and some photoshop and general faffing about :p ) so could anyone tell me if this is a good deal/will be good enough for my needs?

I think you've bagged a bargain. I paid about £70 more for the same spec.
#40
just got mine ordered! not sure of the exact spec!

i7- 720 processor!
4gb
500gb 7200 hdd
1gb graphics - not sure which card yet
9 cell battery
in blue, with web cam 15" hd screen (dunno if its ful hd)
but came to £490 delivered to my door!
Now the point of an I7 might be up for discussion, but an i7 laptop with 1gb graphics for less than £500 to your door!!! Blimey is all i can say!

Tho i will add!!! When i searched, i searched by price alone, and my machine was listed as an i5-430 but then in the limited vague spec it said i7-720 processor...
now i am already bloody happy with the supplied spec but if it turns out i might get a full hd screen i might actually cry!
