Got a XPS700 (for under £700) back in August when it was mis-priced, and it's the best computer I ever had!

I have no connection with Dell whatsoever, but I am a keen user of their products and like to make the membership here aware of any and all of Dells new products.

Alien7, yes that was a stonker of a misprice with some getting an even better Graphics solution due to them running out of parts:thumbsup:

With what looks to be top range componants all round it made me laugh to see microsoft works offered!! Really that's like sticking a tomtom on a Jag! I know you can select office as an option but as all the rest of the gear is right there at the top end of the market you would of thought they should at least throw in Microsoft Office for continunity!!!! :giggle:

That computer seems a complete rip off, could build a system with that spec for a fair bit cheaper IMO.

Two 8800 gfx cards under £900
cpu - £650
mobo - £150
hard drives 2 x 320gb £120 (not striped though as thats just stupid)
2 x 1gb ram £200 for a decent brand

All thats just over 2k so that leaves a grand for the case ;)

My two cents!!

What a rip off! I honestly thought it was a typo in the heading (an extra digit at the end - hence bringing price to £317!):x

And 3 months down the line its worth £300 :-()

They are of course "for the man/woman who has everything" and were posted for your info with tongue firmly in cheek. See the reference to Quidco. Who is going to be bothered by quicdco if they can afford these?
Mind you David Becham could buy after around 15mins training! ;-)

Office is £300 odd, that would be a bit of a luxury i think?
#15
No monitor LMAO not a good deal.

3k can get alot better than that and more.

Never buy a high end Dell from their web site. I bought an XPS laptop early last year and by phoning them up and asking what they were willing to offer (no haggling just asking) I got the thing for a third less than the price on their web site. Tee equivalent now is still £300 more.
The guy told me they have tight margins on low end systems (I got far less off the destop I bought my parents at the same time) but at the high ends they will make severe reductions just to get the business.
I'll bet if you phoned up saying you had a maximum of £2k to spend and then quoted the specs on this deal you wouldn't get far off it.

I have said this before, in this day and age, low end systems are now better value if you buy ready built. High end systems are mainly pre-built for the thick headed inheritance of this world. Of course you can buy a high end system cheaper if you build yourself, most of us on this forum know that. This was aimed at people with a disposable income....

i.e. Those who have come into money and do not have a clue about anything in life or do not really care about their finances!

We can all see Mike was clearly pointing out that these were available, he clearly stated in his post that it was for the rich people (on other words, those who have money but just want to spend it no matter what!!!).

His post in this instance was clearly tongue in cheek, if you can't afford one or don't want one then lets leave it to the rich boys and girls eh?
