  These are amazing monitors. Had to try hard to resist buying this for home
  Seriously wouldn't worry about HDMI. I hook mine upto my laptop with VGA at work and they are still really crisp. Unbelievable considering it's VGA (A decent VGA cable mind)
  It is a tiny bit better through DisplayPort but not massively noticable.
  
  Also, it doesn't have HDMI but it does have DVI which is HDMI without sound.. so yeah.. full HD :)
  
  However, mine has ghosted recently, turns out the drivers were a bit dodgy!

  Seems good to me. Will this be any good as a TV hooked up to a TV receiver, like Apple TV or similar, or would it be better getting a similar size HD TV? Ta muchly
