Completely different experience.

I would either go for the cheaper baytrail version, which is quieter and had better battery life and build quality, or the more expensive i5 version, which is more powerful.

in what way is this more for productivity rather than using it for general browsing

this is basically a portable pc. b if all you want is web, email, YouTube and apps then I would go for the galaxy. if you want office and windows applications then go for this... it's heavier, noisier and had worse battery life than the galaxy but better if you want a proper computer

i5 would be 270 + delivery ~ 280 @ http://www.mcscom.co.uk/live/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=34613 but without 3G

They are seconds, it says in the description that they have light usage marks.

Still great for the price if all is ok.

I bought mine refurbished from DELL Warehouse, apart from the brown box I could not tell any difference between a new sealed unit and my refurb.

I am really OCD about keeping all my equipment pristine, the tiniest scuff or scratch would drive me nuts.

I could not find a single mark on mine, it came with a 3 year warranty and cost less than half price.

Keyboard/case for this anywhere?

Look for PRXM4 - 580-ABWU

This is the keyboard with battery dock. It turns your tablet into an ultra-book and gives another 2/3rds battery life.

Typically around £110.00 but if you are ptient and keep checking http://www.xsonly.com you could get one for £54.99

I paid £110.00 for mine then looked at buying a spare battery. The battery was £30.00 or keyboard and battery for £54.99, so I bought a second keyboard dock.

Dell warehouse are very good but this is not dell and is a reseller. It seems they are essentially second hand tbh.

Not true actually, MCS sell the same stock you would buy from Dell Outlet just potentially graded lower, but it is Dell approved stock. As a business they are good.

However, the Venue 11 Pro 7130 tablet is still not stable and I couldn't recommend it, no matter where you buy it from, just Google it if you need more than just my anecdotal evidence. Battery drains, failures to exit sleep and dock issues plague this.

Plexus is right keep away from i3 and i5. I had both only the bay trail stayed.

I would disagree, I have the i5, 256GB SSD, 8GB Ram, 3G.

It works fine for me, it's a tablet, an ultra-book and a desk-top when docked at the desk.

I bought a spare battery, keyboard dock and desktop dock, all are working fine, try doing all this with a Surface.

I can upgrade SSD, add or remove 3G, swap batteries and dock on the move and at home.

I admit it is not as powerful as my laptop and it does take a little getting used to typing on a 10" screen, for what it offers and what I use it for it is perfect. When I have anything truly demanding I use my laptop but for 90% of my computer use it is more than adequate.

Beware of the 20% restocking fee....

Within 30 days of receiving delivery of the product, the buyer must notify us that the product is faulty, then return the product to us at the buyers expense, an item can be returned for exchange only (refunds at the discretion of the management). Incompatibility is not a valid reason for return, a re-stocking fee of 20% will be charged.

I ordered this exact model and the battery life is shocking, the power button didn't work and the onscreen keyboard very disappointing and the owner still insisted on the 20% restocking fee despite the product being faulty. Thankfully after I advised him of my rights as a distance buyer, he provided a full refund lol.

That's why I ordered direct from DELL. I queried this company about who refurbished them as they also sold on them on ebay as seller refurbished. I did not want something refurbished by some back street shop, they stated that they are refurbished by DELL but sell them as seller refurbished as the warranty is with them and not DELL, they do not transfer DELL warranties.

I wanted the DELL warranty so I bought from DELL, just keep checking outlet. I got lucky, I was watching outlet for over a month and almost gave up as I wanted 8GB of Ram and the 256GB SSD, one showed up so I bought straight away. And as I said it arrived like new with a full DELL 3 year warranty, I couldn't be happier.

Fair enough, those who are interested in buying directly from dell, same model in on the dell's outlet right now @ £378.00 "New Unused Product", there is only one on stock

I would probably invest the money in something that works as it is intended. If you have a light, fast ultrabook like i do, or any standard tablet you'd be mad to pay this much as without a near constant power supply, even on sleep mode, it is flat in half a day!
#29
No wonder this got so hot - dishonest title, you should add Refurbished to it!
#30
There have been many complaints about this model, with many people sending them back.
Reports were that Dell reckoned to have worked out a fix, so my guess is that these refurbs were tweaked and put back on the market.
#31
They also have stronger models with up to 512GB flash, 8GB RAM, and 3G. The price is right, and I am a bit tempted, but I am still not convinced that this is actually a useful device category.
#32
Some good prices at £40 for the keyboard with battery. Which language version (given the UK is not an option) would be closest to our type layout?
#33
Do these come with a proper SSD as I've seen the same model on Dell outlet saying it is an emmc which I thought only came with the atom equipped models?
#34
These are good devices with the keyboard dock, battery life isn't as good as the Atom model, but with the latest BIOS and all the drivers installed, mine was fairly stable.

I got the i5/128 model for much less though

It's a removable SSD, NGFF I believe.

I would recommend that you spend a little more and get either of these two.

- Core i5-4300Y

- Ram is soldered so it cannot be upgraded - both come with the maximum 8GB

- SSD is 256GB, 128GB really will be a struggle once you start installing software.
