    No discount code on the Vostro 1000

    There may be better deals later today but dell altered all the ecodes overnight and I have been going through each and every one to find them since 5am so it may be a while before I finish today.

    Just had a look at the N11100003 configuration with the AMD® Athlon 64 X2 TK55 processor & the bog standard price is £352.57, it has 1GB Ram & 120 GB HD. Anyone know if this processor is any good? cheers

    The only difference is that this new deal has faster ram - 533mhz was in the old deal. This ram is 667mhz - NOT TOO SURE HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERNCE IT WILL MAKE THOUGH!

    Im in the same boat as you.

    Its just between this and the Vostro 1500 which has the intel processor, a better processor and to me better looks with more media funtionality.

    I got the previous Inspiron 6400 deal back in September for my wife as a present following the birth of baby no. 2. Thanks to MikeT for the information, she was very happy with it!

    Unfortunately, our house was broken into and this was stolen last Friday! Pending our insurers decison (Direct Line) we will replace it, but as the 6400 is now £499, would this Notebook be a comparable replacement!

    What's better / worse about this one?

    This is not as good as the 6400 in my opinion, wait till 14th Nov for the next update to see if it drops back to £410 or look at the Vostro 1400 or 1500 for better graphics. The Vostro too may be cheaper after 14th.
