Cheap lappy with c2d & 2gig of ram, knocks a lot of the other deals into a tin hat. Good Find

Awesome deal! If you have the cash and want a new laptop then get one! I had a look, you can upgrade the processor, battery and hard drive and still only pay £389! I got the Vostro 1000 in August and its wicked!

How did you get £389? I'm getting £404.20 with same upgrade.

Good deal, but I prefer what I got yesterday, the same laptop with the webcam built in and an Nvidia 8400 graphics card built in aswell, came to £356 in total. Was normal screen not true life though.

How did you get that deal as I would prefer the non truelife screen?

The laptop Vostro 1500 with 1GB Ram,Logitek webcam, mouse,Nvidea 8400 graphics and M540 1.86Ghz was going for £260 for 9 days ago.
Incidently the M540 beats the Core 2 Duo 1.4 by a mile in single thread applications.

That was one of Dells best ever laptop deals. (silverfox mentioned loss of Ram )This could have been popped later at home for £10. The 2GB model with built in webcam and the 8400 graphics also went for £286 then.

Loss of 1GB RAM though - if you chose Vista, you would struggle like mad. XP is fine with 1GB RAM, but Vista is resource intensive.

Missed out on that one then  ...I find this forum hard work since the upgrade & now seem to miss out on all the good deals.

That's not that bad as RAM is cheap & easily upgraded.

Have you a link to this deal ...I realise that it's now expired but I would like a look.

....I have tried searching for it but I can't seem to find it....the search function is all over the place on this forum...it displays the results of the search in any order it feels like...I get results from 6 months ago mixed in with recent ones!

Thanks for that.

Nice deal but will there be anything better around July/August as I need one for uni. Also does anyone know if the inspiron 1525 will get any cheaper
#14
Pot luck really, prices have reduced for laptops and could well reduce further but you will still get peaks throughout the year. Lots of people will probably be looking to buy at that time of year so the prices may well go up.
#15
Processor is a bit slow but hence the price. I bought a similar spec last month and very happy with it. Broswer can be a bit slow when surfing.

We just need another little discount voucher for the Vostros then we are in business :-)

It finished yesterday:
But I got this:

+ an extra 5% off using a code. So it came to £356.

Same spec as I purchased yesterday :) I added bluetooth too but think the price was identical (plus 5% QuidCo) Should get it on or before the 7th.

pc this has a media centre on it so how does that work?!
#19
Last day for this one - good spec for the price...
