The old thread for this ecode was getting more than a little confusing so todays price drop has prompted me to tidy up with a new thread.

You can find the old thread here if you need to. http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101882

Hey a tenner is a tenner so i might let loose and finally give a dell a call. Do they let you downgrade things like the hdd cos i dont really need a big one.

Edit.
I see on the dell site that it would be about £47 less if i took the 120gb hdd instead of the 160gb one.

Yeh i know, ive got a budget of about £400 but i can stretch it abit. The extra space isnt really needed so if i can get it with a smaller hdd for cheaper than its fine by me. Plus ive got a few external hdd's so if the laptop one gets abit low on space ill just dump it on one of those.

This seems like a good deal.

Just a quick question though if you upgrade to the 256mb graphics card, will the basic processor be able to cope with it?

Also, i assume it doesnt come with Microsoft office...is there any way of getting this for less than nearly £200 that it charges through dell? I have heard something called open office, is this a viable alternative???

Thanks

A friend just got one of these - it's not the slimmest of machines, but pretty powerful, and the battery life is supririsngly impressive.

I would suggest upgrading the screen though, 1280*800 isn't really enough for a 15.4". My friend got hers with the 1680*1050 option, which is a really nice screen. It is 105 quid extra though. Alternatively there's 1440*900 for 47 quid.

You might want to restart this deal. You can get the same spec now for £501.20 all INC using this VOUCHER CODE: $5JS0PN10JL7FT (5% discount). Use Quidco for another 5% off (£21.~) bringing the total down to about £480 all INC

BARGAIN!
