This is a very nice deal for your money - to achieve this price, remove the monitor, remove the 3yr warranty, upgrade to the wifi card, the extra dvd drive, add the basic speakers, the logitech ex110 wireless keyboard and the card reader. This will bring the price down to £300.22 at the checkout. Excellent comp with the 500GB, 3GB RAM and the 128mb GFX in my opinion. D022012

Is the bit after you press "Add to Basket" what your classing as the checkout? Or is it the bit after you've entered all your details?

Because after I've added it to my basket I can't get it to 300...

Looks a good deal.
Is it worth upgrading the graphics card and loosing a few of the bits, ie. keyboard, speakers, wifi card, card reader and getting the price to £327.83 delivered ?

all these deals start off with 'drop the monitor'

i completely understand that but i need a monitor too, am i better off getting one elsewhere or should i just leave the one that is bundled here ?

i know next to nothing so any advice gratefully received

Sorry, I didn't actually check the price of the basic monitor they are offering - it's only £88 and it's not too bad (even has DVI) - seems like a good deal (they sell on ebay for £95+)

cool, thats clinched it. i think we have a winner

Hi, I'm really having trouble getting this down to 300, so far I've only got it to 369, the problems I am having is with:

The wi-fi card upgrade- is this on the first or third page, and whereabouts?

The logitech ex110 wireless keyboard and the card reader- is this under the keyboard section, the "Dell Wireless Bluetooth MultiMedia Keyboard&Optical Mouse for Bluetooth Media Card Reader-UK/Irish [add £31.73 or £1/month1]"? Because when I add this it says I have to then add the card reader which then leaves me with 369 at the checkout!

Thanks for any help in advance :)

keyboard first page first option (Logitech™ Cordless Desktop™ EX110 - UK/Irish (QWERTY) [add £15.27]

wireless card third page under wireless networking (Internal Wireless PCI Card [add £10.00)

card reader 3rd page under floppy drives (19-in-1 Media Card Reader [add £11.75])

add these and the £5 speakers and the total should read £360.22 then add to basket to get £60 off

dont forget to add the extra dvd drive if you like as its free and use quidco

hope this helps

Looks like a splendid deal, particularly with the upgraded graphics card at £327

Couple of questions:-
1. Does anybody know how quiet these machines are?

2. What's the difference between the Vostro 200 and the 400?

Cheers

Hi,

Looks great - is it worth upgrading the graphics card if I am going with XP?

I'm not an avid PC games player - would it be OK for Doom 3/ Halo?

Thanks in advance

No.

Are you able to buy this for home use, i.e. not small business etc. I only ask as i cannot find the vostro series on the dell website without going through the small business option?
#37
It is available for purchase on the home site, just put d022012 in the search bar and it should come up.
