Upgrade to 2gig of ram for £47
250Gb hard drive £11.75

£47 seems a bit steep just to add another 1GB of RAM. In case it helps, the 1GB RAM chips that fit the Vostro 200 are on eBay for about £15.

How many memory slots are there - the 1GB included sugests 2 x 512MB. Would you be able to add a single 1GB ?

If you want to go the ebay route for ram then you could cut the ram to 512meg and save £17.62 on the deal price. The Vostro has 4 ram slots.

Its an integrated card so it wont be much good for anything other than basic games, the idea of this post was to give a platform to build on, meaning as it has no card you can fit what you want without having to pay for one from Dell only to take it out and replace it with your choice.

Mee too for the moment however it does have the option of XP which I'd prefer. I'm wondering how before Dell drop it all together ?

Off topic a little bit but could anybody confirm if you get the full OS (XP or VISTA) CD with these or are you left on high ground if you need to reinstll or anything ?

How easy is it (if at all) partition the drive once received ? Does any of the more recent partition software allow you to do this without having to reformat ?

MTIA for any help.

Must be your browser, try another as it works for me.

Go to quidco, sign in and click through to dell, on the landing page left sidebar is this Shop by E-value Code

Click on it and Enter the ecode from the first post into the boxes and you will go direct to the deal.
