This looks like an amazing price for the spec does it not ? Been waiting for ages and for 2GB, decent proc and larger hard drive I dont think there's been a better deal for a while ? Just curious about lack of feedback...

Thanks MikeT.

£403.09 with 22" widescreen monitor. Tempting. Take care ordering the 20" widescreen, I believe it delays the order massively. Voted hot.

Does anybody know whether the Vostros X1300 graphics card has a DVI output ?

It is a very good deal, I left heat & rep to Mike but didn't bother to post. It's definitely one of the best for a long time, you couldn't build a PC with that spec for the money!

This customer review of the monitor suggests it does, but I'm not 100% certain.

Cons
As delivered by DELL as part of a system, it looks terrible, running at a horizontal resolution of 1024... Fuzzy and a mess. Reading some adverse comments here you do wonder how the screen was being used. But install the drivers provided, or let Vista choose them for you and the screen is just great. I used it with an ATI X1300 pro and the digital interface cable ( provided, but you have to swap out the VGA one which is attached).
There is some light bleed at the top and bottom against a black screen, but you really won't notice it in practice. Really.
Overall - a great monitor more than good enough for general purpose use.

Damn this is a great price.

If I didn't have the Inspiron 530, I'd do the following upgrades:
CPU - E6750 (2.66hgz)
Reduce the warranty
22" monitor
Then do the mouse/keyboard trick.

Sum total....£467.72

I think you can upgrade to Vista Premium for about £55 elsewhere. Which would make this system around the £520 mark. Great deal.

Maybe I should send the Inspiron back!!!!
#13
Just putting my order through and it looks like its gone up to £262.09 now.. only £12 but little annoyed to see the price change when I went through a stage.

Could you do that, I got my inspiron the same time as you.
#15
i get the price as £258.57

I have reduced the warranty, taken the monitor out, put in the logitech wireless keyboard/mouse set.

What am i missing out on?
#16
This is a great deal! I'm very tempted by it with the 19" monitor and Vista Business.

How do you get to the Vostro home site without going directly through the links provided? I can only seem to get Vostro on the business sites

You cant get to it on Home, if you want to use quidco to buy then log into quidco, click through to dell home and enter the ecode from the OP into the ecode finder boxes on the landing page.

Your not missing anything, they raised the price to £258.57 minimum

Went through at £258.57, but still a good deal.

Anyone want a 1-year old Dimension 3100?
#20
i got £258 inc
#21
The Dimension published elsewhere today seems better value if you are upping the spec especially as it's quad core. The memory upgrade on the Vostro is much more expensive as is the hard disk.
#22
thanks
#23
This is an excellent deal...one of the best I've seen from Dell.
#24
Anyone know if I'll be able to plug my old IDE hard drive into this? Also, does it have a parallel port?
#25
I was just going to order then I noticed £60 delivery.

I'll not be ordering from Dell.
#26
Sorry, I think that will be No and No, unless you pickup a PCI IDE Card.

The price of the system is £198.58 inc VAT. Dell then add £60 for delivery.
#33

Its free

Where and how?
[mod]#34
As you cant knock on Dells door to collect, the price is what it is inc delivery, they could be charging £200 delivery and £60 for the unit, you still get a price inc delivery and thats it.
If you need to return it dell will pick up without charge under dsr.
#35
Well thy've changed The SB site then, it did say free deliv earlier :?
#36
Super duper deal! Thanks Mikey - voted HOT
#37
yup £60
#38
Do we have any codes for dell for anything off ?
#39
For those wanting Vista business the other Vostro deal which Mike posted today seems to offer better value. Selecting Vista business on this deal leaves the price about £30 less than the other Vostro deal (also with vista biz) but with you get a bigger hard drive and processor with the other deal (500gb and E6550).
#40
WOW! What a cracking deal :) I was looking to build my own media centre around similar components and theres no way I can match that :O .

Ordered with the 22" monitor..

Only dissapointment was only 10/100 NIC :( but no problem until HD comes around and a new MB is only £30 :)

Great find :D
