ok so its just a basic spec but the price is nice ;-)
#2
i like it!!!!
#3
Is it upgradeable to p4 dual core in the future? and does it have a com port?

Thanks
#4
Its annoying that a third of that price is delivery charges!!

Still good though, and ideally timed for a friends dead 'emachines' PC. And there is an option for a free upgrade to XP! ;)
#5
good voted it hot.

I'd delete vista and have xp
delete support
delete tft
2 gb ram
e2160 processor
coming in for £170 plus p&p

Its the way Dell work. If delivery was free they would charge £158 for the computer.

They work on a total cost of getting the computer to you. If the computer is very cheap they charge £60 for delievry.

If they are giving the delivery for free they add the £60 to the cost of the computer.

You need to look at the total cost and in this day and age £158 for a system unit (all be it a fairly basic one) is still a good deal.

Actually it is plus VAT and p&p.

That takes your £170 up to £260 and then all of a sudden it is not such a good deal.

Thanks,
Just what I've looking for for my mum - with the monitor in
#9
I think it is worth leaving the TFT in.

It is only £75 (plus VAT so about £88) which is pretty good for a 19" widescreen.

The same monitor sells for £130 on the Dell site, and even the cheapest 19" widescreen that I can find costs around £100.

voted hot great deal for basic pc ok for what most people use pc for
#11
That £84 would be excluding the vat and delivery. The price is about £158 including delivery and vat.

Who mentioned £84 ?

Yes it is £84 plus VAT + delivery which makes £158 as it says in the title.
#13
Unbeatable. Cheers Mike.

The guy posted above that it would cost £84, but hes changed it now.

Voted hot. That's a storming price if you don't need a particularly high spec.
#16
Great deal for a basic machine.
#17
£158.69 is a good price for basic computing!

Order/opt for a £300.00+ spec then delivery is free, this is an option to upgrade to a higher spec and avoid the £60.00 delivery charge?

Overall not a bad deal.

you could buy this in celeron spec and buy yourself the E4600 for around £80 not the £135 they want. The best is the £105 for the E4500 how does the E4600 become £30 more its only £10 more and the fitting is the same. Here you go for those that fancy upgrading all have a 800mhz fsb so should work http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Products.asp?CatID=11&Category=CPU&ThumbNails=Yes&FilterKeywords=&FilterMinPrice=&FilterMaxPrice=&FilterCategories=447&OrderBy=1

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500, Allendale Core, S775, 2.2 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache, Retail £63.89 £75.07
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, Allendale Core, S775, 2.4 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache, Retail £74.98 £88.10
Intel Core 2 Duo E4700, Allendale Core, S775, 2.6 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache, Retail £76.39 £89.76

Click through from the OP and you will see its one the home site too.

Or you can make your own way to dell home and enter ecode 305-D032003 into the ecode finder boxes and it will still be a home site deal.
