Remember to reduce the warranty to minimum where applicable and take all Dell deals right through to checkout for final pricing.

This was removed from the lineup as its last months pricing but its back, must be a glitch so grab one if you need it before they remove it again. I will list a better deal if you have a few more ££ to spare.

The upgrade prices for some of the Dells are ridiculous. To put in the Intel Core2 Duo E8400 processor is £270, I can buy that for £135, how do they justify such a price to upgrade it.

Partly because you will be getting a totally different motherboard and probably PSU,

you could buy a decent quality PSU and motherboard AND an E8400 for that price. Voted cold as the OP has posted 2 threads on practically the same thing so as to get more heat.

Leading authority? WTF? :-D

He's posted some good deals but what normally happens is if you find multiple deals on what is pretty much the same product is that they're posted in ONE thread. This stops the forums being spammed up with very similar deals and means there is a better variety of deals on the front page and people are made aware of more deals rather than just having 3 very similar deals all taking up space when they could be in just one thread.

Have some respect. Most people have got great Dell deals thanks to Mike T. If you haven't noticed that then you haven't been paying attention!

Thanks - nice deal. Do you know of any awesome deals on the Small Form Factor machines (Either Vostro or Inspiron?)). Thanks

This seems a good bargain, but don't you need 2GB of RAM to run the resource hog that is Vista effectively.

Did I say the deals weren't good or that he hadn't helped people? No! Have some respect!

Vista will run alright with 1g of RAM. 2gb would be better and 4gb even better still but 1gb will give you enough power to run Vista fine for most people :)

Even if that were true (which it isn't completely, it's not as if they give you the old M/B, PSU and CPU after they upgrade the PC, ), that shouldn't warrant the ridiculous upgrade prices they charge. I recently built a whole PC based on an E8500, and the whole thing cost less than Dell are asking for that processor upgrade alone.

The deal posted is a good one if you don't want to upgrade it, or if you want to buy upgrades separately. Almost tempted to buy one for the spare room, but I've bought enough IT kit this year already.

Is that price ex-VAT? Or am I missing the codes?

The reason the E8400 is massively over priced is that Intel aren't giving big kickback on the processor as stock levels will be low so Dell over inflate the price as they dont want you to have the product. They give the big firms like Dell big incentives to push certain lines like when they have large overstocks or are discontinuing products.

Should be working just a little slow. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking java.

If still no joy go to Dells home page and at the bottom select 'desktop' (it's in small blue writing) then at the bottom of the next page is says enter e-code then enter '305' in first box and 'D102012' in the second.
If you are purchasing I would go through quidco for the cashback then go with the e-code method.
But remember to clear your cookies so your cashback tracks.
For this use ccleaner its free and is available from filehippo.com.

Naah - voted cold by you as you are particularly slow.

Feel the heat and spend a bit of time learning to post quality deals like Mike has over the last few years.

I wouldn't expect it to be pulled so you should be fine. The spec is standard it the price of the processor that keeping the price low as intel are pushing this at the moment. Im waiting for the price drop in the new year when the C2 quads should drop in price due to the new core i7's.
