nice price, ever so tempting

Some real strange quirks going on as if you try and save money by opting for just 1Gb ot ends up costing you MORE as the free delivery is removed from the deal above.

E.g. D122006 specced above but with 1Gb (saving £37.01 over 2gb option) is £410.73 as no £60 free delivery!!!

oops. got it, ordered, voted hot

Think this could be a Real Hot one.

Congrats MikeT, You have done it again.

Unreal, so this is.

I've tried speccing it as above and it comes to 447, doesn't seem to be taking off the 60 for delivery. Any idea's please anyone or has the deal expired?

Same here...

This is an amazingly good price!! Probably the only thing letting it down is the integrated graphics, but you can always fit a dedicated graphics card in the future.

22" monitor and very high spec maching for about £350 after quidco - wow!!
#14
is the monitor any good for gaming ?

Unless I'm missing something (and I could well be) if you **don't** want the monitor then the offer at £235 (D122003) plus £1.77 for the 500GB SATA is pretty much (if not the same ?) machine - OK O/s is Hom rather than business.

The 22" monitor on D122003 would be an extra £246.75 which would take it to £483+ - pretty much £100 more for the same machine ?

I wasn't planning on a new monitor but this looks like it could be a no brainer at the moment !

Regards to all

Yep that sums it up nicely.

Start with D122003 for £236 if you DON't want the monitor
Start with D122006 for £387 if you DO want the monitor (note you MUST have 2Gb memory selected for free delivery to kick in on this one)

However it does highlight that the net difference is around £151 between the two deals which show that the D122006 machine is over priced to begin with when taken without a monitor and saving compared to buying the D122003 machine and buying the monitor from 3rd party at around £200 mark is only a £50 saving rather than the nigh on £100 saving if you add the 22in monitor at £246 to the D122003 price.. A saving is a saving though LOL

This post will definitely hit the 2000 degrees mark! One for the front page!

Ultimate bargain to be had. My brother has the previous deal which was a slower processor, smaller hard drive for £420! REMEMBER QUIDCO! Should be around £13 or so.

Can someone tell me if it is okay to purchase this item, not having a business.

Thanks.

Great deal, have 2 with exactly this spec (actually 2x 250gb drives) with the same 22" screen that we thought were a giveaway at £425+VAT, bought another as a spare, the 22" screen is actually a great screen, put that with Vista business and its almost worth the price just for those.
#27
oh man, i'm so tempted!

.... but i really want to hold of for a quad core at hopefully the same sort of price!

Tempted by this myself, particularly when I see what I could get for my existing monitor and system bits on ebay.

What about the OS? I have four PCs in the house including my own, all XP. Should I opt for the XP Pro over the Vista? I noticed when I changed the OS to XP I get a pop-up telling me that the wireless PCI card is incompatible.

This Vostro is on the Home site, not the small business site so yes anyone can buy it.

Even if it were on the SB site anyone can buy from there too its just your consumer rights are better looked after on the home site.

Hi, this is my first post here. Joined this forum to ask this q.

Could someone who has ordered this deal post the delievery date. (I am non-uk based and want to see if I can tie in a cheap trip to UK to collect this deal. Where I am computers are more expensive a Dell only has limited range - have rung Dell and do not match deals or even specs here.)

Many Thanks!

Just in case this spoils your plans, Dell UK will only ship to a uk address with payment made from a UK credit or debit card registered to that same address. Any other payment method means contacting Dell and making special arrangements for payment.

Magyar, are you sure it would be wise to buy in the UK - depending on where you are you would probably have to pay customs duty (unless within E.U.), but even then I think the biggest problem would be getting it back to your own country, if by Post it would probably cost a fortune, you suggest a trip to the UK... I can't imagine it would be practical to put a desktop unit and a 22" monitor on a plane, but then again I've never tried it.

If you are really stuck, one option may be to buy in the USA, they a have a forum called slickdeals like this one but given the exchange rates they get much better deals than even this one! Use the mail forwarding service USAbox.com (one off registration fee of $25 for UK) and they will take collection of your package and post it to your country, you can specify the values on the customs sheet, the delivery prices are reasonable and it must surely be cheaper than a trip to the UK. If you need a US card to order there are also pre paid credit cards you can order online.

There are some amazing deals to be had over in the US and then posted to your country using a mail forwarding service with present exchange rate, probably easier and better than making a special trip!

Hi! When going through Quidco to the Dell site, I can't seem to find the Vostro listed under the "Home" store. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I was just going to post the same thing, I think its just on the small business site...

Fantastic deal for this spec with a decent sized monitor. I have a similar Dell with Vista which to date I've found to be excellent in terms of reliability and speed and it's very quiet which is a nice bonus.

Hi, what is the warranty like with this - is it a "collect & return" or do they send someone out ?
