Heading towards 'back to school' time, and i've found this lurking under small business on Dells site. Apologies in advance if its been posted before....

Dell Vostro 200
512Mb RAM
19 inch TFT
CD/DVD Combo Drive
Intel Celeron 420 1.6GHz
1 Years warranty.

for £235.07 delivered.

Evalue code 305-D08V01a

Very entry level processor and RAM, but very usable for surfing, wordprocessing etc, and better than buying a used PC for someone on a very tight budget. Double the RAM to 1Gb for £17, upgrade to a Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2140 1.6GHz for an extra £23.50

Don't forget Quidco for cashback.

Looks cheap to me?

Hope this helps someone

Where do I type the Evalue code on Dell's website?
Go to

Select 'Small Business' near the bottom on the RHS

On the next screen, Select 'Shop by E-Value Code' half way down the LHS.

At the bottom of that screen, Enter 305 in the first box, enter D08V01a in the second, click '->'

Drop the warranty down to 'Base Warranty - 1 Year Business Hardware Support'

Hope this helps.
If you only have £235 to spend then this is a good deal however if you are going to upgrade bits then for £35 more then this deal and leaving the monitor in is better ...

Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core E2140 Processor (1.6GHz,800MHz,1MB cache) vs Intel Celeron 420 1.6GHz
1GB ram vs 512MB
250GB vs 160GB

I think those upgrades are worth the extra £35

For a basic machine with a 19" TFT this is a giveaway price! Personally I would switch to XP and change to the 16x DVD writer (the CDRW isn't available with XP). Total cost is then £246.82
