Thanks. At the moment I have a Advent Pent 4 3.4GHZ with only 512 mg of RAM and its being playing up for ages - its soooooooo noisey so im looking for something to repalce it on the cheap to be honest. IX is palying up - it wont let me open more than one tab, and when it tries too everythign else that is open crashes!
Also I cant hear any sounds on most websites, youtube included but Windows media player seems to work.

What do you think abut this as a replacement? or

I would go for one with the normal size case like the ones you have linked to

What expansion slots are there in these slim cases? I'm curious whether I can add any PCI-E video card to these, or whether the 2 ATI options they give are reduced height cards, or something.

Is there a proper spec for them somewhere?

Also, wondering how noisy they are. I'm looking to replace an ageing MSI barebones system whose CPU fan is starting to get a little noisy. The PC lives in the lounge, so I'm after something as quiet as possible, but would still like something capable of playing MS Flight Sim, for example.

Ah yes, so there is. Lots of detail in there. Looks like it has one PCI-E x16 slot, one PCI-E x1, and 2 regular PCI slots - not too bad at all. It'll also take 2 internal 3.5" HDDs, as well.

The only thing I'm not too sure of is how noisy the fans are going to be... That's chassis, CPU and I presume one in the PSU, too. And that's before I fit a descent graphics card!

You can only fit half height cards into the S case i beleive , ive got a Vostro 200 and to be honest its not quiet noiser than my last PC

Thanks for your comments. The slots in the manual looked like they were full size (and it doesn't seem to say otherwise), but I guess it could be a bad drawing. And I also guess that if it's a product aimed at business, then being quiet may not be one of their top design priorities.

I've always found dell desktops to be quiet, apparently some of their servers sound like a jet plane when first powered up though.
