MikeT - don't you mean "Dell" rather than "Sell" in the title?!

D08VS1a for reduced RAM to 1GB and Intel Core Duo E2140 1.6GHz. £306 del.

What do you think on this deal Mike?

I'm looking for a new PC, just for surfing the net and downloading, but also for my games (i.e. Football Manager and The Sims)

In the past I had to get my graphics card updated as it couldn't handle my games, I have a 256MB NVidia GeForce.

Would this graphics card on this PC be able to support my games?

Interested in this deal but not sure whether the case will do.
Does anyone have one of these?
I will be at least looking to put another hard drive & DVD/CD Drive into it so does anyone know the facts on the case?

Cheers

I think this is a quite nice mid range system for the money, it has onboard graphics so your not paying for a card that your going to take out and swop for another, but as to if the onboard will play your games I really cant tell as I'm not a gamer. Hopefully someone who's bought a Vostro will chip in and tell us his thoughts on that one.
Is your old graphics card PCIe, if so it may well fit this and work better than the on board. Depending on what your card is of course.

Does this need low profile cards like the C521, I can't quite tell from the manual?

Cheers

Yes this is a slim version of the 2 Vostro's so half height cards for this one, normal for the other non ST Vostro

You are right, of course. The problem is that they are twice the price. :whistling:

I had a look but the cheapest machine I could find had a lower clock speed processor, half the RAM, one third the HDD capacity, no Keyboard or mouse(!!), no monitor(!) and I couldn't even see the video card specs! Despite all this, it still cost £40 more than the Dell. Looked quite nice though...

Did you have a specific link to the really hot deal that you had found?:giggle:

Hi Mike,
Are there any more 9200 / Q6600 deals on the horizon?
I just missed the last one alas.
Thanks.
