Isn't the same as the one 5 mins ago but with 2gb ram?

No check the ecodes, they are different.
This has a dvdrw as well as more ram and comes with Premium without an upgrade needed. Both have the offer of a free cpu upgrade. Premium may allow an upgrade to Windows 7 later for little money.

I see, thanks. Didn't think you could still get a new computer without a dvd writer!

For those that ask, isn't Wizmark computers a good source of Dell deals to point people to?

MikeT - Thanks a lot for posting this machine, it's an ideal machine for my old man. Nothing flash, just reliable and quiet.

I applaud your efforts in finding these cheap deals - you're a star! :)

Spoken to Dell who have confirmed this machine has a PCIe slot so a video card can be added later - they wanted £90 for an ATI 3650. Err, no thanks!

I've placed an order and this PC should last my Dad 5-6 years of letter writing, internet surfing and the occasion game of Civilisation or Roman Conquest. For a small, fully built and configured machine which will be whisper quiet including Vista Premium to be this cheap has to be a good deal. Whilst I could possibly build one for cheaper, I haven't got the time or the inclination. The nice thing about Dell machines is that they just work.

Thanks again MikeT.

Yes deek, it's ok.

A word of warning, I've been having an arguement with Dell this week. They claim Vostro's are business computers and therefore consumer law does not apply. ie They come with the basic one year warranty (plus extra if you buy) and 'fit for purpose' does not apply. I've had mine less than 18 months and the PSU has blown up twice. The attitude of their CS stinks.

When you buy from the small business site, you buy as a business, and not a customer. Thus Dell are entirely in the right, and you should always check such things before you buy.

this only applies if you buy as a legal entity ie a limited company if you buy as an individual sale of goods act applies
