£299 here also :)

Nice Find but Integrated Graphics. To add the Graphics 256mb cost £111 which bangs the price up quite substantially.

But still thanks !

Still waiting for the ultimate Dell Deal around the £550 mark !

Can the integrated graphics play any games and cope with vista aero feature?

So add your own, it's open up and slot it in, it's not hard to do and much cheaper than getting them to do it.

Wouldn't that make the warranty invalid?

I suggest you keep an eye out for the next time the Dell Outlet has free postage or money off deals. For £550 I’ve seen loads of Dimension XPS 420 desktops with Q6600, 3GB RAM, 500GB+, 512MB 8800GT. It’s hit and miss and very recently there’s been no good XPS 420 deals. If you can wait and are patient I’m very confident you’ll get a great system for £550.

No it doesn’t. What might invalidate the warranty would be installing a VGA card that requires more power than the system can provide; if that damaged the system. In that scenario you’d probably remove the card before phoning for tech support I suppose. :w00t:

take it to the checkout and you will get £60 off:thumbsup:

remember this offer has a much better processor so it may still suit some people better if they already have monitors and graphics cards:)

To be honest the Dell deals are a bloody nightmare , so many of them

yep have to agree with you, it can get confusing at times:thinking:
#15
so basically the same as all the other dell vostro deals - a different spec gets you a different price, do we have to have a thread for every possible combination of option?

#23
Can't get to the Vostro through the main menu, how did you find it ?
#24
Is there anywhere where it lists the processors/codes on the outlet site? Looking at an xps420 with processor ICR2-3000. Anyone help please?

It's ok thanks I've found it.

There have been 3 XPS 420 systems on the Outlet shop all afternoon for about £575 shipped:

Q6600, 8800GT 512, 500GB. 2GB, Vista HP
#29
Looks a reasonable price, especially if is delivered. Still prefer to do a custom build, dell use alot of oem stuff which isn't the best of quality.
#30
I'm looking for a PC ASAP and thought this looked a pretty good deal however, are there any other photos apart from the one in the add ?

I wanted to see how many USB, firewire ports there are. I see tha tyou can add a card reader for £11 something, is there nothing already built into it?
#31
8 usb, 4 at front 4 at rear, you need to add the firewire card for £5
#32
its almost the only place you can get a customised PC at a decent price!!!!!!

At least you get to see the pick of the Dell deals here.

Still there coming out at £571 delivered. TheVostro 400 is a bit cheap and chearful but the XPS 420 looks like a pretty good case.
#34
Thanks for the reply deanos is there a card reader there too, or do I need to add that ?

I am really tempted by this offer, life without a pc can be so hard !!!!
#35
If you want it then yes its £11 you need to add it

£50 more gets you a 19" widescreen,ATi 2400 Pro , DVD Rom + DVDRW drive & 3gb ram, E Value code D022012 have you looked at that one ?

No I haven't, I found this site via word of mouth so it's all new to me. I have a monitor dvd rom/writer already as my daughters pc packed up on Sunday (M/BRD, HD failure on an old P4 ). I was just looking for the best repalcement for around £300. I haven't bought a DELL before either and to tell you the truth a lot of it is a bit beyond me.
#37
Personally i would spend the £50 more, which gets you the extra 1gb ram, + DVD Rom drive and Graphics card rather than intergrated grapics & the 19" TFT, you can always sell that you should get £100 for it, processor is slightly slower tho.

Heres a link should work, you need to take it all theway and add to basket to see final price, drop the warranty to 1 year and add the dvd rom drive, dont forget Quidco for 5% cashback

Thanks once again for your help. I added the firewire and the 19 in 1 card reader with bluetooth, knocked off the monitor and it came out at £303 which is pretty good. Could you explain the 'Quidco' thing to me, I didn't notice that on the way through?
#39
Looks good deanos, could you explain the Quidco cashback, I haven't seen that before?
#40
www.quidco.co.uk they take £5 off your earnings per year but well worth it
