Thanks Mike - voted hot

The one posted the other day for about £420 was a far better value system than this. Came with 19" monitor but with 250gb hard drive/1gb ram (that could be upgraded for next to nothing).

This one is nothing spectacular I'm afraid

Thanks Mike,

i have just changed the following

The logitech wireless mouse/keyboard
2 x 320gb hard drives (10% off )
This will allow you to configure in raid 0/1
Raid 0 will improve disk access speed, good for gaming etc.
All for £470 delivered.

MikeT when are you going to post an XPS 420 for around £500 i'm itching to buy one, this is a good deal if only it did not have Vista Business :(
#5
Does anybody know what type of motherboard Dell put in these?

Are they Dell's own?

The specifications of the actual motherboard seem unclear.

Thanks

£588 is about the limit on XPS420 today so far.

If this is bought with vista business it gives you downgrade rights to XP Pro too so you can end up with 2 OS's for the price of one, see my blog sidebar for more info.

is the other dell (the one with the 19" monitor) a better deal? its only £409?
#8
I think this ones a bit better if you dont need a monitor - 3GB RAM vs 2GB and a better graphics card.
#9
Showing up as £505 for me even after taking off the usual :(

So can you read the red text in the post above yours?

Poor Mike ha ha. I think you will have to put the red message in all your posts,
then maybe you will have an easier time.

Thanks for all your posts.

Cheers
Paul.

Seems like a Hot one

god everytime Mike puts up a deal there are always people saying its comming up at such a price, and they are always told to follow the instructions and take straight to checkout, without fail, people please read the 1st post...does make me laugh though..

this seems a good deal, need a desktop and a laptop, got to wait till my money comes through, next month, i would be tempted with this one with a wee bit extra added on, will keep checking Mikes posts..

Nice machine MikeT!

Dell seem to be overpricing their keyboard and mouse option at the moment, so you can upgrade to the:
Logitech™ Cordless Desktop™ EX110 - UK/Irish (QWERTY)
for a total price of only £442.98 (£2.35 cheaper) :santa:

Why is the FSB on this processor only 1024 as compared to the Inspiron 530's 1066? would the inspiron therefore be quicker al other things being equal?

R.
