Ok price, but old processor and no 1080p screen upgrade option.

Not hot, but not freezing.

Personally prefer the sony deals.

Sony deal

If sandy bridge had not just been released, this would be scorching hot. Still worth a bit of heat though, especially as most people wont push this to anywhere near its limits!

This is most likely because of the Sandy Bridge release that the L501x is down to this kind of price...

dunno.. this is pretty much the lowest spec xps - dont think they were significantly more were they?
not too bad i guess
there is also an option with a (garish) union jack lid i3-380 and 500gb hdd for 50 quid more

This is the slight more than I paid for my XPS 15 last month which had an i5-560M, 500GB hard disk, 4GB RAM and 1080p B+RGLED screen.

If you're dead-set on an XPS 15, best bet is Outlet, as you can get them for under £400 delivered there.

I have to agree. Look to the outlet for deals on this laptop. You could purchase this spec for less than 400 delivered for most of this week. Most if them seem to be cancelled order models.

not bad although the HD5450 is a bit rubbish for gaming; the GT 420M a fair bit better

I agree, I got i5-460M, 4gb ram, 640gb hdd, 9 cell battery, 1080P B+RGLED, Win 7 Ultimate, next business day warranty, as new condition, £500, blows this deal out of the water if you can live with a second hand machine!

pretty decent graphics card for the price considering most overlook this, have some heat!

i would advise against the outlet, i bought an XPS from there 2 months ago, was horrendously disappointed in it when it arrived (massive, crap screen being the biggest gripes) only to be told that the outlet apparently isnt required to meet standard distance selling laws in the uk for some reason.

The outlet is nominally fantastic. Bought plenty from there, not had a problem.
Choosing your items carefully there really is your job, not theirs.

Drop me a line and give me the spec of your model, I'll make you an offer and you can possibly cut your losses?
