hmm the graphics card kinda sucks.
#2
depends what you want to use it for.

Looks pretty fine to me - I paid £445 from Dell Outlet a while ago but the only common components are the gfx card and memory. Gfx works great so unless you are a hardcore gamer, what's the problem?:?
#3
Good price for a pc with that spec.
#4
Agreed,
Just I am in no hurry for blu ray, yet, and happy to wait & see how it develops & price falls. If you have a need or desire to burn BR disks now, then it sounds a good way to do it
#5
how much is a blank blu-ray disk anyway?
#6
looks like a great deal! my aging pc is in need of a replacement.

does anyone know if i can plug two monitors into the includes gfx card?

on the brink of buying - can anyone tell me if it can handle 2 monitors out of the box? (pc noob here!)

#14

I would expect a normal 3870 to have twin dual-link DVI ports but being dell I don't know if they'll have replaced one with vga.

Is the Dell Xcelerator worth an extra £60?

Its a good price but it bothers me that you pay all that money or a P.C and all they give you is a one year warranty. If your gonna spend that sort of money they should give you 3 years cover included. Imagine paying full price for it and it breaking after 13 months you'd be gutted. Other than that good deal.
#22
all good giving you 4gb of ram but if your only getting 32bit vista then not much point, dated graphics card but otherwise pretty hot
#23
If I'm not mistaken the 20% discount voucher expires midnight tonight.
#24
Its a shame that you can't remove the blu-ray burner, then it would have been good price i suspect. Otherwise nothing special about the price for a q9400 system with a hd 3870.
#25
not very into computer, still recok it is a good buy, hot added:thumbsup:

No two DVI.

Dunno about the gfx card being "dated" as said in another post.

What is "dated" supposed to mean?:?

Like it won't work?

FFS gfx card w*ankers are a real PITA on these threads:p

This computer will still be able to use some of the 4th stick of ram so it helps a bit, if you are going to buy this and don't want 4gb of memory then why don't you ring up dell and ask them to take it out, or as you seem to know so much about computers then why don't you do it yourself when it comes. But I somehow suspect that this computer is not good enough for you!!!

Hardly a recommendation of a good buy, you can stick a 30 or 40 quid Graphics card in a 200 quid PC and it will run two monitors!
