A hot laptop which will perform for gaming as well as just about anything else. Lots of positive reviews

Been looking for a gaming laptop for a while now and this as far as I can see is the best spec you can get, sadly no BluRay or 1080 screen but the rest really does compensate

Optical Devices 8x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
Wireless Networking Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 (EUR)

Online Backup DataSafe Online Backup 2GB - 1 year licence
LCD 17.3" HD+ WLED True-Life (1600x900) with 2.0 Mega Pixel Integrated Camera

Also quite good that is has 2 Hdd Drive bays so could always pair it with some of the bargain SSD deals around and make it really fly in every way.

Use NTHH9VBKGP4NC7 for 10% off to get this price, also eligible for quidco which if it tracks would bring the price to even nearer £700.

Not up most peoples street as most don't need the ability to edit video and that but I would love someone to post me up a laptop with better specs for the same or better money. I do love the way this place always gets cold votes on any computer that is over £300 that is not a Mac. I wont even bother to ask for cold voters to explain as none of them ever reply.

Also edwardw121 nothing wrong with not needing this sort of spec for day to day web browsing and the odd other bits, depends what you need. Would love to post a Workstation system at half the price it would be as a joke one day and just watch the cold voters bury it for the sake of it being more than the £20 they are willing to spend.

34 mins and already whinging, let the votes settle a bit
can get better gaming laptops for under a grand but not as low as this in price i spose
no screen upgrade or at least the potential for one is a massive downer for many id expect
seems good but i dont find this size particularly portable or useful to me

This is a very good laptop for its price. Especially regarding the processor and graphics card.

Heat added good deal for an i7....however if I were going to spend £700-£800 on a laptop from dell then Id call them up and haggle the price to include, blue ray, 1080p screen and bluetooth.....and a bag :P

RB1978 - I think I may do that anyway to see if I can get a bit more out of them. Anyone had any luck in calling up and haggling for a bit more?

I wouldn't have thought that they were the sort of Company one could haggle with TBH but you never know?

Looks to be a pretty powerful lappie to me! it has to be hot even though it's a lot of cash.

Wait people, Sandy Bridge gets launched in 2 weeks and there could be a whole load of new laptops with much better specifications.

Yeah, naturally we think this but as a buyer we are able to haggle for a better deal any time any place. Speaking from experience with dell I have always walked away with a better deal then advertised, this could include any of the following, more memory, better processor, bigger hdd, bluray drive, bluetooth, back lit keyboard, free bag extra years of warrenty...sometimes they have asked to pay a little extra then advertised. I have personally purchased 4 machines from dell over the past few years, also when friends and family want a machine I always tell them to tell me their budget and wat features they want and then ring dell myself first. Sometimes it works sometimes it dont, sometimes I call back and talk to someone else and they offer me something similar to what Im looking for. Think of it like calling a mobile operator, or when you goto buy a car, once they know you have made the effort to call them or come to their show room they know you are serious and usually offer you a betterish deal...hope this helps. I was given this blah blah a few years ago from a cousin who is a sales person, and trust me it does help.
