I've tried this one but when I add to basket, it doesn't include free delivery?

Should show as below:

I get £494.39 at the checkout with this spec (it does take off delivery and the 10% code works).

what do people think of the graphic cards?is it worth upgrading? iam not into games plus i heared that if you upgrading you better go for 256mb ratjer than 128mb...is that true? all i wanted is for windows vista to run smoothly..will i get that with integrated card?
#5
If its shared 256mb then that just borrows the memory from your main ram, but if it is dedicated 256mb then that should be better for games.

But the graphics card it has in now isnt really suited for gaming, perfect for movies though
#6
Also my laptop has the exact same specs as this and it runs vista perfectly

anyone know how much affect the 8400gs option has on battery life?

looks like a bit of a steal to me but not sure i can quite afford/warrant one :(
#8
I'm not sure if its still working:( Coming up as £653 for me) - This includes money off and 10% code.

Thanks for this! Voted hot :)

Just ordered mine two hours ago, can't wait! Many thanks for the one posting this!

BTW, I wonder if anyone has this before and if so, does it have a built-in card reader? It didn't come up in the specs, but I do hope they have this in the laptop!
#12
Yes there us a universal card reader at the front of the device.
#13
That's cool, thanks Robin!
#14
Ordered one of these so thanks OP
#15
Had my eye on one of these for a while...

Just ordered one in Midnight Blue with 2G (800FSB) C2D + 6cell battery for 536.23 (less Quidco = 509.42)... bargain price for a well specced machine!

Many thanks... voted hot!

Can anyone tell me what the difference in quality is between the LED and CCFL screens is?
#17
thanks alot man! being a student i have been looking really hard for a cheap but good laptop. I have always likes the XPS but wary of the price and was leaning to Rock, after this deal i just couldnt let it pass. Kudos!
#18
thanks. went for this with an upgrade to the 2ghz processor, and LED screen. £581 in total.
#19

I think it really depends what you are using it for.

If you are using it as a replacement for a home computer then 13.3" is probably a little small, but then again I think it's generally agreed that 17" isn't particuarly portable (size and the extra weight).

Thanks alot. ordered one. got a 2gig cpu and a battery upgrade. Came to £535ish. thanks!
#22
Ordered myself one too. Upgraded to 2GHz, 9 cell battery, £581. Should get money off for Quidco too! :)

Edit: Upgraded to a faster HD too, hence the price difference to the post above...

Cheers. I want it more for a second computer in the home, rather than port it around. Good Advice. Thanks

Rather than upgrade to 4gb ram for the Dell price of £209...

...for £40 you could add 4gb (2 x 2gb) with this deal: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/139720/laptop-memory-sodimm-ddr2-800mhz-pc/

Then sell the original 2gb ram on ebay for about £30

:)

Hi guys,

Does anyone know whether its possible to get the XPS M1530 with free delivery? Didnt think you could get the M1330 until I saw this thread.

Cheers

what delivery date did you guys get, I got 13th feb! will it really take 2 weeks for it to ship?
#27
I got 12th Feb.

Has anyone's gone into production yet? Or is everyone else's still in pre-production like mine?
#28
ordered mine on sunday and they're still saying it's being processed so has not even gone into production yet. :x

those of you who received an estimated delivery date when did you order yours?
banned#29
mine is in pre-production also, but the date has been updated to today. last night it was "in pre-production since 26/01/2008", but now it says "in pre-production since 29/01/2008".
#30
Mine changed (rather rapidly) to dispatched today. The delivery estimate just gives them time to work with I think. I'll let you guys know if it comes tomorrow.
#31
I bouught mine on Jan 25th and when I just checked now, it still says 'Pre-Production as of 25/01/2008'. Nothing changed to my status then? :-(
#32
I bought mine on the 25th too. For a few hours on the 26th it actually changed to in production, but went back to pre-production again the same day, so mine shows "Pre production as of 26/01/2008". Hopefully there aren't any part shortages.
#33
Mine was delivered this morning, so no problems here.
#34
How come mine is still in preproduction now, as ordered on 25/1 and the money hasn't come out of my bank account either, though I've received 2 emails confirming the order on purchase day? But the delivery is expected till 12/2, so I'm not sure whether I should contact them or just keep waiting...??
#35
I emailed today asking if there were any delays because mine's still in preproduction. I got a reply back saying its actually IN production. My status online still shows pre-production though so not sure what's going on there.
#36
I bought a couple of these yesterday (which I had to do as 2 separate transactions to get the free delivery twice - nice work Mr Dell) Anyhow, 10% voucher no longer works so maybe the OP should be updated to reflect this?

Without the extra 10% off the price begins to look considerably larger. If they remove the other discount and the free delivery these laptops will be costing about £300 more each than I paid for them. Seems unlikely somehow!

Unsurprisingly, my orders are both showing as pre-production. How long have most people had to wait to get theirs? Now I need to order a desktop and some kind of budget server, anyone got any hot tips?
#37
order mine sunday still in pre-production rang dell today got new date 13/02/2008

You ordered on the 27th and received on the 31st? That's pretty cool. I hope mine gets here just as fast (ordered on the 30th, evening, so on the 31st technically)

Yep, so I'm a little surprised at the problems others are having. So far so good on the actual laptop too.
