Wow, this look so good :w00t: , I'm tempted to ring them up today, cancel the Vostro 1500 I ordered a couple of days ago and order this with similar options instead. Do you reckon they would allow me to do this, anyone ever done it? Distance selling regs etc...:whistling: Heat and rep

Yes you can call and cancel without penalty, just remember they may have ring fenced an amount on your ccard. You do need to order this 1530 with hi specs to qualify for the voucher remember, oh and it expires today midnight.

yayyy thanks Mike. I think my card can handle an overlap between purchase of this and recredit on the other. I don't get a new laptop that often (currently got an IBM T40 Thinkpad) so am going hi spec enough to get the discount, except for the RAM which I can easy upgrade myself in the future whenever needed. I liked the Vostro, it's just I like this better and so willing to pay a bit more for similar tech spec

PS: Nice to see the anti-Dell gang as usual voting cold but with no explanations

Great price for the spec....bluray drive way more than I would ever need, but its a Hot Vote from me

First class Mike.....just waiting for Blue Rays to come down a bit more so I can fit my own though! Hot...

Ahh ********, I bought the M1530 you posted the other day thinking it was as good as it's gonna get, with this one you get it £50 cheaper and have a choice of upgrade on the screen res whereas I am stuck with standard.

I bought the other one on finance, I have signed the papers and faxed them in but still have not been given any order status, might attempt to cancel it today.

Cheers voted hot.

bit of a problem with this. I tried out this morning and the 10% coupon worked fine, but I wasn't quite ready to order so I saved the basket. Two hours later I reapplied the coupon and it said it was invalid. So I gave Dell a ring, initially they said no problem, would do the sale by telephone and even sorted me out a 7200RPM 200GB HD that wasn't an option on the internet. But when it came to the coupon I got passed to a sales manager, I presume in India, who said that the 10% coupon was only for Inspirons not XPS's :( Couldn't get him to budge on this but he would because he said it was so heavily discounted already. Although when I then said I would be better ordering on Internet for the quidco referral he said send him the details and he would match it. Still waiting for reply  It's still a very good deal overall so I am still tempted to go with it ;-)

Hmmm, I posted 2 deals using the coupon at around 2am today and they both were heavy discounts already so I was suprised to see they worked with the coupon, looks like dell have caught on to both now.
Pity but hope some managed to grab one.

Daaaamnit I literally wanted to get one of these about 2 hours ago, and found this, got through it all and went to put in the coupon...not working, then I refresh this page and it says EXPIRED. Just my luck! Does Dell let you pay monthly by the way? I'm a University student and I can't afford to slam down £900 at once...

They do do credit deals, but you would have to pass a credit check and not sure what their interest rate is like.

Anyway to finish the story, after much friendly haggling, almost got the price I wanted originally as they agreed to take 5% off in lieu of the quidco, but they applied it to the full amount including VAT and they let me have the 7200RPM 200GB instead of 5300RPM 250GB with no extra charge rather than the standard £50  It certainly is worth haggling. Thanks again to Mike :-D

I will try calling them tomorrow and see if my order has gone through, i it hasn't I will try for the HD you did and pay for the upgrade to the highest res screen.

I hate it when I buy a top spec just to see added features I want days later. In the US they can have microsatin cases on the XPS range and more colours. Colours don't bother me too much but microsatin finish would be nice.
