Yep, the 9-cell is down as a free upgrade.

Primary 9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery (85 WHr) add £0.00

Wow - If I had some more money to spend then I would buy this laptop. If you purchased this from PC world it would be £1,000 +.
#6
To be honest I might even return the 2 laptops I bought in the £50 of deal to get this one.
#7
Could you ring dell and see if you could downgrade a few things for a cheaper price? Like 3gb ram 250gb HD should make it a bit cheaper.
#8
Two small points to bear in mind about this laptop:

1) It's being replaced very soon (don't suppose that makes it a bad laptop / deal though :))

2) Beware of potential GFX card issues: see the Dell blog and deffo take note of many readers comments on this and older entries on the blog site about these cards.

Even so, good price

#13

#14

All these dell deals and coupons actually have the effect of stopping me buying a new pc or laptop, as I always think unless im getting £300 off plus some % discount on top I am really over paying.

Who know is gonna pay £800+ for a laptop we know has been sold to some for closer to £650??

I'm just bitter I couldn't get the cheap price aint I?!!!

Its a good laptop but two things:

it gives you static shocks when plugged into the mains (google "m1530 shocks") and it gets very hot because of the metal surface in front of the keyboard. Its a good laptop and good price, but can be annoying to use due to the heat it generates.

anyone one know of anywhere to get similar price for similar spec. Would be greatly appreciated. Im hopefully going to be buying a laptop today and i thought i got lucky when i saw this deal

Sorry if you missed it, Dell dropped the price for the days of deals I think but why they raised it again so soon I really have no idea.
I dont have another ecode thats close to this spec and price to offer.

Sorry about the late reply on this, but should anyone still read this thread & consider buying a Dell laptop, be VERY careful.
There is a huge graphics card issue at the moment. Any laptop with an Nvidia 8600gs or gt is a potential waste of money. The rumour is that they are all faulty & will burn out inside of a couple of years. In a lot of dell laptops these are soldered into the motherboard so are not easy to replace. The issue is so bad that Nvidia share holders are actually taking it to court. This issue is not just with Dell, it is with any company selling laptops with these chips in. There maybe more models of Nvidia chips that are faulty but those are the only one's that I know of that have been officially announced.
