I don't think this is a good machine to go for, if you're wanting the graphics performance this chassis offers and prepared to put up with the weight and bulk of it then go for an 8800 based system off the Outlet. It costs more money but it makes a lot more sense, if you're less bothered about graphics performance then 800 quid will get you a decent 17in machine still with a reasonable graphics card.

Agreed. 8700m GT has 32 stream shaders, being merely an overclocked version of the 8600m GT. (which had horrific failure record).

Even a single 8800m GTX has 96 shaders; basically pair of 8700ms will struggle to take on a single 8800m, while using about twice the power, you do the maths...

Also better read this first:

Having two affected GPU does double the risk of GPU failure.

That system is fairly loaded, but at a cost - but any M1730 with sli GPU will struggle to get 1 hour battery, cos of having dual drives, dual GPU (unnecessary waste power waster).

With the powerbrick, it weighs 5kg+, its a hefty desktop replacement, with the weight, power consumption to prove it...

Direct link:

The supply is very limited, and only chance would be to, pop into a larger PCW shop in the morning.
Might as well just spent slightly more, on a quad core laptop with blu-ray, Ati's 4850 mobility GPU, with twice the battery life, yet only halve of the weight.
no stock either
