Have been looking for a quiet small form factor pc for some time.
I want a pc to replace my existing mini tower. The new pc will ideally sit under my tv in the living room to be used as a pvr, provide Hidef video to my main lcd and allow streaming throughout the house including streaming live tv from windows 7 media centre.

Considered this instead of atom based. The spec on this is really good
Its currently has a savings of £429 with quido this gives a saving of approx £460

Might help if you say what SFF means? I had to look it up as the term meant nothing to me.

How do you get to the saving of £460?

Edit: Just seen the original RRP! That has to be a bit of a joke, who'd pay nearly a grand for something like this!

Quite right. Adjusted the posting to give context on what I want to use this for.

I have looked at the processor and graphics on the Zino Vs an Atom 330 (i.e Revo 3610) and think this pc will meets my needs better. I am worried the atom 330 will not be able to record multiple channels and stream live tv at the same time.

Unfortunately you can't include quidco in the deal price, so the price is actually £528.99.

and the savings that dell quote (Total savings* £429.00) I would say are based on slightly inflated prices ;-)

dell gives you £429 as part of the deal and
quido = approx £31
This give a saving of £460 on original price.
Dont know if quidco is calculated including vat or not so savings may be slightly less at £27

I think Dell prices are indeed over inflated but still think good deal for what you get.

You're probably right on that.

Sounds like you need mythtv.

I have existing linksys and xbox 360 media centre extenders so need windows 7 for live tv.
This will replace an existing windows 7mini tower thats currently sucking up air and power in the spare bedroom.

6gb of RAM is overkill here, and it brings the price up.

what is a mini tower designed for? I take it its more of a media oriented pc...not gaming? (sorry if questions seems stupid, not very computer savvy!)

A mini tower is your bog standard PC case these days.

This is a small form factor PC which generally consist of an entry level processor and graphics card in a very compact case. Useful for things like a media center PC (combined media player/DVR/DVD player).

Why Dell have released this without the option for an optical out to connect to a 5.1 amp is beyond me. The older Studio 140g hybrid was a better option and nicer design. :x
