4 weeks ago was Black Friday. This is Boxing Day deals early. Great deal. Cheapest NDG out there at the minute
#7
Which is better, Dolce Gusto or the Talissimo.
#8
Bought this in the Black Friday sale for £30. The machine doesn't have enough bar pressure to make a good cuppa. Avoid at any cost, or it will end up next to the bread maker in the cupboard.

Cracking good coffee machine, got one on Christmas Eve

...but my breadmaker is currently whirring away making a cinnamon-raisin spiced loaf as I type! ;-)

picked one up today. if you register the machine you also get £10 to spend on the online store. :-)

They're both good, the selection for Tassimo however is much better and they often have the better offers etc.

Does this machine use those 'expensive' coffee / milk pods ?

A friend of ours has a coffee machine and every time he makes a cup of cappuccino, he uses two of the wee pods, one for the coffee and the other the milk.

That works out at about £1.80 a cup, OK cheaper than in one of high street shops, but still quite expensive

loads in Tesco martlesham at 10am today

I did a fair bit of research on Tassimo and Dolce Gusto before committing to a Dolce Gusto Mini Me before Xmas. I found that quite a bit of the Tassimo coffee can vary in price. A lot of feedback on Amazon was stating the pods had a price hike. I found personally Dolce Gusto had a better selection for what I wanted. If this takes the usual Dolce Gusto pods which I believe it does, Asda had 3 packs for 10 quid not long ago. Works out around 50p or so a cup. You can get selection packs off Amazon/Ebay, where you can sample every flavour. Inside my box I got a 10 pound voucher to use on the Dolce Gusto shop (where the pods are 3.68 a box). Note that some of their best flavours are online only. Personally I can recommend the Caramel Latte, Skinny Latte, Vanilla Latte. However the best flavour I've had that I thought I wouldn't like is Marrakesh Tea. It is full of flavour and tastes just like hot minto sweets!

How is it £1.80 a cup? You can get the boxes for £3.80 - even the ones where you need two pods, you'd get eight drinks for that. More like £0.48 per drink, and half that for the ones with 16 drinks in the box. Definitely a good deal on the machine - we've had one for years, and just bought two more as gifts this year.

Yes they use the coffee/milk pods but work out to be about 45p/50p a cup. Way below highstreet prices.

Loads in the Antrim store.

I have the silicon pods u can use with this machine, they are about £14 for 3 but you reuse them over and over. you can put any coffee and other drinks in. I have a milk allergy and most of the gun drinks have milk powder in but I can make my own now using whatever I like in the silicon pods. works out a lot cheaper!
#23
Does this machine have the water quantity setting switch and adds the correct quantity of water like the mini me does?

rubbish, 48 pods is c.£10 on amazon, total nonsense re your comment
#25
Kevin6bz are the dolce gusto compatible? I.e. fit this machine?

Cheers
#26
And its £3.70 for 16 pods in all the high street shops, so even with the 2 pod drinks its less than 50p a drink... And they taste as good as Costa imo

Just to note that this model does not have the 7 step play and select system and some of the other specs are different from the OP.

Yes this is what I thought too, I'd pass for this reason. The description is incorrect.
#29
Yes I have the mini with the selector level for amount. Got this for a friend today, and after searching for half an hour for the amount selector, realized it didn't have one. I can't see how you can make half the drinks wthout one. A bit insane to me it not having one.

Purchased. Nice looking machine. Water comes out at a slight angle. You have to judge how much of each capsule goes into each coffee and u also have to have different sized mugs for each coffee, which I was unaware of not bad coffee so far, but I beleove the automatic machines may be best for exact measurements

I have just got one, it is so easy to use. The trick is to know the level of your cup / glass to fill it to (e.g. 180ml for Cafe au lait). :)

Nice cherry red colour ( but why oh why, did they put a bright red power cable on it?).
