good price - coop staff get an extra 5% off with their membership cards or if it's still available in 2 weeks, 10% off as it's payday.

Good, but the Delonghi EC330 from Curry at £69 is still a better deal and nicer machine. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/delonghi-ec330-s-15-bar-espresso-coffee-machine-69-currys-2054119

The coffee is too strong for my liking. I always have to dilute it 2:1, i;m not sure about the rest.

COLD from me.

No

In this price bracket my advice would be Nespresso. You will only be able to get an espresso of matching quality to nespresso with fresh ground coffee and you will need to buy a capable grinder, that will be at least double the cost of the machine.

You can always use ESE pods in these-bit dearer than ground coffee but cheaper than Nespresso pods and available in Waitrose and internet.Out of stock now anyway!

Good point, I didn't consider that. I haven't tried them myself but I can recommend Nespresso from personal experience. :)

My opinion... Buy a second hand gaggia classic. Then when funds allow buy a hand grinder like hario or rhino.

Same pump so same shot, I don't dispute that. But EC330 is better looking, has a better/longer pannarello for frothing the milk, is £1 cheaper and is actually still in stock at Currys.
Between this and a Nespresso is a matter of choice and budget. The Nespresso is practical to make a quick espresso, but I get just as good if not better from my little delonghi using lavazza arabica ground coffee. The real difference is in the running cost. 1 espresso shot with nespresso is about 3 times the cost of 1 shot using ground coffee. 30p vs 8p/10p a shot! You do the math depending on how much coffee you drink!
